Some people call that progress, I call it treason

The Founders Had a Tipping Point

Every generation of young men has their heroes. For some, it was the Lone Ranger and Tonto or the Green Hornet and Kato. But, when I was a young boy, it was Patton and the Big Red 1 slaying the Germans and Japanese. The entire population of adolescent, neighborhood males joined in. But, these days, adolescent children won't get their fat butts off the couch and away from MTV and video games and are raping and killing each other at younger ages and in unheard of levels and sadistic ways. Coincidentally, playing Army men, along with dodge ball and "tag", is now considered too violent and aggressive for today's cultured little ones. Hell, parent's can't even spank their children any more without fear of being thrown in jail. Yet, younger generations are increasingly turning to violence to solve their problems. Some people call that progress, I call it societal failure. Looking out across my neighborhood on Independence Day, I could see entire neighborhoods enveloped in the shimmer of red, white and blue. People had differences of opinion, but weren't polarized. They could unite under that single flag that accompanies the caskets of those who gave it all. These days, it's commonplace to see some idiot spit on my nation's colors, wipe their behind with it, or use it to ignite the Molotov cocktails they hurl at riot police during some misguided protest. Some people call that progress, I call it a fiercely shaken, 40 oz. can of whupass begging to be opened, should I ever witness it. Growing up, I realized I was blessed with being an American in the most fiercely independent and prosperous nation on Earth where I didn't have to apologize just for "being me" I was free to choose my own destiny, but was fully responsible for those choices. I can still choose my own destiny, but that doesn't mean that liberals in Hollywood, academia, government or the media won't do everything in their power to try and stop me from realizing my destiny, if that destiny somehow clashes with their morally and intellectually bankrupt ideology. Some people call that progress, I call it just one form of the tyranny our Founders warned us about. In my youth, I was taught character and sportsmanship; how to lose gracefully and take your lumps, both on and off the field. Today's progressive shields their child from the slightest bruise to their fragile egos, attends their job interviews, gets involved personally in their child's Internet disputes with other children, exchanges blows with the referees at sporting events over bad calls or even tackles their child's opponent on the field so that Johnny can finally score. Some call that progress, I call it a nightmare for our country, when these incorrigible narcissists of the "ME" generation inherit the reins of power. Some call that progress, I call it the result of 40 years of brainwashing by people who took far too much LSD and then passed on their warped beliefs to successive generations. As a young boy, my idols were bigger than life; Jesus Christ, George Washington, George S Patton, Knute Rockne, Neal Armstrong, Audie Murphy and John Wayne. Many of today's kids baptized in the intellectual void of liberalism have never heard of America's most decorated soldier, could care less about religion and think the Moon landing was a conspiracy and a fake. It's commonplace for secular-progressive liberal politicians, actors and even White House communication directors and the Presidents they spin to shower praise upon the likes of Mao Tse Tung, Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro, Che Guevara or Mumia abu Jamal. Some call that progress, I call it moral and intellectual bankruptcy. Not that long ago, I could celebrate Washington and Lincoln's birthdays, Columbus Day and look forward to Christmas break, public Christmas trees and Nativity Scene. Today, it's winter break, a holiday tree, Earth Day or World Worker's Day, and, if public expressions of my faith aren't outlawed outright, I have to sue some overpaid bureaucrat or apply for a permit just to display them. Once erected, they would most certainly face vandalism or counter-suit for removal because a single village idiot has the gall to admit in public they find a cross, Menorah, Star of David or Nativity scene offensive.  The secular-progressives are now more hostile to our own religious identity than terrorists. Belief in absolutely nothing has now achieved the same status as believing in God. Some people call that progress, I call it the good intentions that pave the road to hell. I was taught that if you made five dollars allowance per week, but you blew it all on payday at the candy store, you weren't getting another dime until payday, provided, of course, the person paying that allowance felt generous with what was rightly theirs and you were willing to work extra. But, all of that has been thrown in the trash, along with science, economics, education, the rule of law, fairness and personal responsibility. We're now led to believe by political leadership that when you spend yourself into multi-trillion dollar deficits, that you have to spend even more of what you don't have, printing or borrowing it if necessary, in order to avoid going broke. And if you do go broke, well, the taxpayers, their children and grandchildren will cover it. I was taught that our Constitution was sacrosanct; that it granted power to the citizens of America, who conditionally entrusted it to certain individuals who swore to preserve it, protect it and defend it against all enemies, foreign and domestic, the operative word being preserve. I was taught, despite progressive denial, that our Constitution was not a living document and that our nation was founded in a bloodbath that was drawn to cleanse the colonies of the stench of tyranny and that it was our sacred duty as Americans and beneficiaries of our Founders' struggles to ensure it stays that way. Duty calls. The generation leading us towards a Third-World, socialist, Banana Republic giggle under their breath, every time they're questioned on the Constitutionality of their actions and see our founding documents as an obstacle. Some people call that progress, I call it treason. There can be no doubt, among all but the most rabid liberals among us that everything our Founders put on the line is in danger of being destroyed. Everything our nation's veterans have died to uphold is now under attack from within. Everything you have fought to leave your children is threatened. Every aspect of American life is now on the verge of being placed under government control. When the government controls the means of production, the allocation of wealth, the dissemination of information and the personal decisions that govern your very health, and by extension, your very existence, it has become a threat that must be neutralized. It would be quite intellectually dishonest to pretend that the Democrat party is solely responsible, as wayward Republicans who have strayed from their principles have enabled the campaign of shock and awe on our way of life. This isn't an issue of Republican vs. Democrat, but right from wrong. And, we've reached that tipping point. The time has come to choose sides. Knowing what we know of our Founders' intentions, as laid out in the Constitution, Declaration of Independence and Federalist Papers, it is clear that they left us an exit strategy. It is right there, in black and white, for anyone willing to step outside their comfort zone and discover the truth: If we are to remain Americans, we have the right and the responsibility to overthrow the tyranny that is threatening our efforts to preserve, protect and defend our very way of life, and by force of violence, if necessary.
