On March 23, 2010 Council of the Township of Asphodel-Norwood became the first member municipality of ORCA to pass the following motion in a 3 to 2 split.

‘THAT the Council of the Township of Asphodel-Norwood, being a member municipality of ORCA, call a meeting to dissolve the Conservation Authority as outlined in the Conservation Authority Act, section 13.1’ Recommendation was received from Peterborough County Landowners Association as a delegation on March 9th 2010 to the committee of the whole. ‘On behalf of the public and myself, I wish to thank the Council for their fortitude on this issue and for starting the ball rolling and look forward to having another member municipality consider our request to allow the public input into this wasteful and bureaucratic mess called Conservation Authorities.’ Tony Kenny President, Peterborough County Landowners Association Seeking to preserve our rural identities, traditions, security, prosperity and the fundamental principles of natural justice http://www.ontariolandowners.ca

Ontario Landowners Association——

The Ontario Landowners Association shall defend and promote the principal of strong local governments, democracy, and natural justice and represent the interests of the rural community.

For Rural Ontario to survive, Property Rights and judicial reform must be enshrined into law at all three levels of Government, these being; Federal, Provincial, and Municipal.

Rural Ontario is under systematic attack by government bureaucracy and false environmentalism.

The Ontario Landowners have and will continue to expose and meet these threats with determination and resolve in the court of public opinion.
