"The Ontario Greenbelt Act" of 2005

The “let’s wait and see what happens” game is over

Canadian and Global Environmental NGO’s (Non Governmental Organizations) ordered Ontario Liberal MPPs, without public consent, to boldly take occupation of 1.8 million acres of Ontario’s heartland. In perpetuity it’s called "The Ontario Greenbelt Act" of 2005. This Act is forced expropriation without compensation. All future land expansion for urban development within the given area has stopped.

Hiding behind NGO’s, Queens Park has deliberately escaped its obligation of an economic impact study on the Greenbelt. In 2004, several public meetings were held leading up to the Act and the entire process reeked of reckless abandonment as agro industries and family farms persistently suggested. Greenbelt jurisdiction is controlled by Hon. Minister Jim Bradley (MPP St. Catharines) of The Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. Presently, NGOs are assisting the Minister to expand their Greenbelt directing municipal councils convinced that they could never do enough to further their cause. By what benchmark did these non-elected rulers define “anti-market sustainable developmental opportunities?” I would like to thank all who signed the "Ontario Greenbelt Economic Impact Study" petition. On May 11, 2010 the petition was presented to Queens Park by MPP Randy Hilier and MPP Bill Murdoch. We wish them a heartfelt thank you. There are over 1000 signatures from around Ontario. Several economic impact studies around the world report no real benefits with cold side effects. NGO Friend’s of the Greenbelt Foundation executive director Mr. Burkhard Mausberg said; “Sometimes (government) doesn’t take into account economics when passing Legislation.” To erode the public trust in favor of unelected officials using their position to rally financial support for their own use is inexcusable. Armed with the Ontario Greenbelt Act, Provincial Policy Statement (PPS2005), The Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, Green Energy Act and the Clean Water Act the province has escalated their dictatorship. One example is the quiet rural community of Lincoln off the QEW. Located in Niagara, between Hamilton and St. Catharines, Lincoln’s area is approximately 90% Greenbelted lands. The 150-year-old "Beamsville Fairgrounds," a 27.4 acre open zoned green space, dead centre of the town’s urban development, is now a battlefield where developers and public are slugging it out thus postponing a housing development slated for the grounds since early 2008. Local councilors sitting front row with the province’s tools of mass destruction hovering above offer delegates on both sides a trial in the art of surrender or else! Municipal Councilors are expected by order to rubber-stamp provincial and regional guidelines into the local “Town Official Plan” guide by fall of 2010. This provincial wide action will disenfranchise many municipalities unless something changes. The Ontario Greenbelt Act alone has over extended it’s so called “virtue” halting the “Made in Lincoln” factor. Meanwhile, developers are lined up at the OMB like hungry hounds at a butcher’s window. They have the money and are calling for relaxed regulations. After the fighting is over in Beamsville; could a possible treaty by the joining of a “public-developer partnership” to redirect their combined strength against the true culprit, all level politicians and their legislation, be a solution to put some control back into the hands of the public? We’ve been deceived by multi-leveled government for too long. Worldwide sensationalized media owned by Banksters has been flooding homes for years. The showboating of sleazy politicians and their legislation swindled the public allowing them to slip through the cracks undetected. Global Banksters thrive off of have-not provinces in do nothing greenbelts and will party hearty at the World G20 conference in Toronto next month. In the interest of public safety and under the banner “Made in the USA,” a homeland security designed police state/martial law is costing taxpayers a staggering $1.2 billion plus. G20, authorities and media are staging money as the prime focus creating a simple but effective diversion away from armed forces of this magnitude on our Canadian streets, keeping public outrage to a minimum. It’s not as pretty a picture the NGO’s want you to see. The “out of your hands” transformation is well under way since Greenbelt’s occupation. Listen to the bountiful waterfalls to soft flowing creeks rocking to songs created by the watershed barons. Feel the gusting winds to the gentlest breeze whistling unhealthy harmonics of “globalism” through energetic windmill farms. Tour the luxurious open green countryside and forest parks where the aged and unemployed are led like sheep to pasture. Queens Park “Open Ontario” oligarchies have taken up positions in global micro-managing as promised by the non-elected birth of aristocracy. This is in direct violation of your liberties and sovereignty that two world wars were fought to hold The True North strong and free. With elections around the corner the “let’s wait and see what happens” game is over. John O’Neill, Lincoln ON
