Even among professing Christians these days, biblical discussions are difficult. A lot of folks out there carry, in their hearts and minds, pet doctrinal theories which often simply best fit their lifestyles. Or maybe it's an unbiblical doctrine they heard from Mom and Dad, and it stuck in their repertoire of favorites.
In fact, now, religious discussions with people who have been told by their tvs and Internet that things relating to God and Christianity are leftovers of an old-time, Neanderthal superstition which should have perished years ago are therefore usually over before they start. The few truly orthodox Christians who are openly committed to inviting people into relationship with Jesus Christ are a rare breed, and routinely quite unpopular. And yet it was their much hated Lord, Jesus, who 2000 years ago knew that this tumultuous world's climactic unrest would be centered upon the tiny nation of Israel--instigated by the same powerful pagan enemies who have always encircled them. Was that just a lucky guess?
For the past few years, especially since the riotous looting and other senseless mayhem resulting from the death of George Floyd (and it should be noted that the coroner performing his autopsy didn't seem so convinced he had been murdered), America and the Earth have been experiencing what I see as 'warning shots' fired across our bow by the God who made us. Within these last few years, all sorts of disasters including weather, social upheaval, unbridled mass hatred, volcanoes, wars and rumors of wars, famine, pestilence, earthquakes etc., etc.--you name it--have amounted to a succession of 'wake-up calls' from our creator (*cf. Matthew 24:6-13, Luke 21:11, 2 Timothy 3:2-9, etc.) who does not want to see any of us perish outside of His Son's saving covenant. That covenant now still stands as an incontestable guarantee of Jesus' blood-purchased promises to see each and every trusting believer safely home to Heaven.
Meanwhile, there is a very real devil who, since the dawn of our creation, has been working frantically to keep mankind rebellious/sinful, separated, generally dissatisfied, ignorant and distracted from the only chance we'll ever have for forgiveness and eternal salvation. God's words of instruction in the Bible (which I call 'God's user manual'), are a most necessary spiritual compendium available to totally educate us to the historical facts of the true God and His Son's dealings and methods of dealings with mankind. The rousing caveats I mentioned above are commonplace and easily identifiable when we actually dare to open our Bibles and discover how the true God (who has Himself told us that He very deliberately hides from people: Isaiah 45:15), conveys this most vital information that will prevent our winding up in an eternal hell of torment.
On the other side of the grave there is a black chasm (bridged or unbridged) which we must all navigate after our last breaths on this planet. God wants each of us to wake up and prepare for that crossing. The devil wants us frightened, confused and distracted by a non-scientific science that uses its preconceived fables to support the huge lie of evolution. Satan even goes so far as to implicate God's use of evolution in creating mankind and the universe surrounding us. "Any port in the storm" is the commitment of the adversary of our souls, in seeing us with him in torment and eternal separation from God. The origin of mankind and our world is right there in Genesis. And science, real science, completely complements that entire explanation.
Despite what some of my commenters have conjectured, I did not grow up in some Bible-pounding Christian home where any of the above might have been banged into my head. By the time I got to college, when 'Campus Crusaders' would corner me and ask, "Have you found Jesus?!" my response was, "No! Is He lost?! If I see Him, I'll tell Him to call home!" But God easily caught up with my fleeing and hardened heart. And starting just a few months after my own conversion, and then on through the 50+ years of my Christian life, I have been in the 'basic training' that God ordained for my assigned discipline. Specifically, I have been a 'cult fighter.' Today, my 'first language' is comparative religious research and cult-related apologetics.
False religion, specifically unorthodox religious organizations, a.k.a. "cults", base themselves upon lies, and they don't like close scrutiny exposing the flimsiness of their deliberate dishonesty. Ask anyone who has been involved in a similar effort. They will tell you that falsehood becomes increasingly obvious to the mind that is trained to its subtlety and tricks. And cult apologetics has greatly trained me to see the cultist attitudes of the entertainment industry as well as many news organizations, scientists, and politicians. More and more through the years, I've noticed that steady tv watchers are often not the critical thinkers most of us used to be. The television/internet has entirely captured the minds of millions of Americans. And, subsequent to that, cultist attitudes are developing and individual thinking is more commonly discouraged.
My ongoing exposure to organized religious deception has taught me much concerning the modus operandi of the very real satan who is indeed entirely the enemy of our souls. As Jesus noted in John chapter 8, the devil's whole language consists of lies. Whenever I hear satan (or any of his brainwashed puppets) spouting what, on its face, seems to sound true (but isn't), I always know for certain that he is constructing a lie in the process of using what amounts to camouflage.
Liberal television and the entertainment industry are ever busy making lots of money from the millions of weak-minded people who have habitually forfeited their own abilities of analysis, research and common sense. And though satan uses all sorts of different vehicles and packaging to proliferate his lies, the lies are, nevertheless, told to achieve a uniform goal: to keep as many people hypnotized until their ability to hear the truth of God is terminally crippled; and their window of opportunity has completely expired.

The devil is notorious for his determination in achieving the fatal blindness and hardened heart that naturally separates a lost person from the forgiveness, life and love he or she should be enjoying in God.
If everyone were now conversant with the history and message found in Scripture, most would instantly recognize that the current catastrophes we are witnessing and experiencing here in America and worldwide are quite aligned with what the prophets of the Old Testament, the apostles and Jesus himself warned us about in those sacred writings! Instead, the tv/internet is being used mightily by the very real devil to convince us that our weather-related (and most all other) problems are entirely attributable to the trendy new source of every calamity, the cult of "global warming."
When I was in college, the approaching horror was then another Ice Age. At the time, just like today's 'weather change' propaganda, that wacky prediction kept millions of people on the edges of their chairs. But, of course, that didn't pan out; and the whole dumb thing faded into obscurity. The new mace used by power-hungry world leaders is the now politically manipulated nonscientific LIE of global warming.
The desired goal of all these really self impressed, deadly serious-sounding world leaders, assorted dignitaries, etc., attending this year's meeting in Davos, is that they want to build a new governmental bludgeon with which to pry additional taxes from and impose unprecedented legislated/policed control upon the naïve and willfully ignorant world. A big shift in leadership has occurred in the past century. Today all aspiring tyrants want to be (depending upon the type of government they are wielding) either the authority over, or best friends with, the people who hold the buttons, switches and levers of cyberspace.
It was Hitler's overseer of the "Reich Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda," Paul Joseph Goebbels, who said, "When a lie is told (authoritatively and) often enough, it becomes truth." And that is precisely what is happening right now with people who are kept frightened and mesmerized by the overwhelming babble and propaganda of the audio-video assault being waged upon millions of perishing zombies who used to be conscientiously thoughtful and feeling human beings. As an angry God (who never made robots) is attempting to capture the attention of so many of today's people who have effectively fallen asleep, the new popularly accepted horror story of climate change is helping to keep them far from the devotion and prayer they should be about at this time.
The lie of "Global Warming" is today the very real devil's way of keeping gullible people frightened, distracted, and looking to human government (which heavily funds and therefore influences so-called 'science' and 'technology') for solutions rather than seeking the heart of Almighty God who created everything and is capable of controlling everything for our good. Instead, daily, there are lots more compounding lies circulating which are obviously invented to support the notion that a cataclysmic warming phenomenon will inevitably wipe out all life on planet Earth. Yet another of what I think could at least politely be called an 'exaggeration,' I heard recently on an MSNBC news clip. The report was introduced with the attention-seizing words, "2023, the hottest year EVER on Earth!" (MSN: The Biggest Climate stories of 2023)
Since Earth is at least 6000 years old, how can anyone say for sure what the hottest year has been on this Earth? As I wrote above, the civilized and technologically capable world didn't even start recording temperatures until about 200 years ago. I don't know where they might be keeping the records of temperatures from billions of years ago. But, as seems usual, the rest of that commentary was filled with similar foreboding and dreadful environmental horror stories--all being blamed on global warming. It looked to me like all of these sorts of stories were simply the result of floods, tornadoes, wildfires in pine forests and other tragedies that in no way conclusively corroborate any proof of a warming planet. Again, people are often kept looking at distractions having little or nothing to do with the truth of God's waning patience toward a self-centered people that has completely turned its back on Him.
At the onset of promoting global warming, in the mid-1980s, I quite accidentally heard an interview with one of the former heads of America's Weather Bureau who had just retired. It was on a Monday morning--his first day of 'vacation’ -- and he was being interviewed by telephone at his breakfast table. One of the lead news people on the phone with him immediately informed the man that it was 'Global Warming Day' at that government-subsidized radio station's headquarters. She wanted his comments on global warming. It became obvious she had not previously spoken much with the highly experienced meteorologist. His response to her went something like this:
"Well,... in all my years of studying weather and running the Bureau, I never saw any evidence that would lead me to believe such a notion. While our weather is certainly cyclical, sure enough, there is nothing to indicate that we are suddenly entering a lasting, global warming trend. I mean, we have only been keeping records of temperatures for (then) about 150 years. And the now popular satellite temperature reading is nowhere near as accurate as ground instrumentation. Most existing records are the result of ground-based readings. And they don't tell the same story that the orbiting instrument stations are giving us. I wish I could be more help." The woman thanked him for his time, and quickly terminated her interview.
I need to here point out that an opinion, one way or another, does not necessarily indicate one's spiritual affiliation, light or dark. As I had pointed out above, a lot of people believe stuff simply because they want to, or someone they trust told them whatever. Nevertheless, Jesus did point out in John chapter 8 that there indeed are two families on this Earth. The children of a lying devil and the children of the living God. However, rest assured and make no mistake! The world is indeed 'heating up'! But the pending 'fire' will not have anything to do with climate change.
We are on the cusp of an insanely selfish world battling amongst itself over who will ultimately take control over everything and everyone. And as we walk into all that approaching mess, what sort of massive deception will it take to completely enslave the minds of the people who were all born to be free? How much longer will the enemies of the free world wait patiently for America to reelect a leader who will not allow our land and liberties to be stolen from us? How much longer will our free nation continue to sleep comfortably in front of a warm television/internet monitor while millions of unvetted strangers are invited to invade our nation and drain our resources? How much more 'woke'/DEI garbage can America's evaporating remnants of sanity and straight thinking survive?
Very recently the Washington Post published something that really caught my eye. The article was entitled, "Doing your own research is a good way to end up being wrong." The author wrote the article elucidating the notion that independent research often leads people to gain more confidence in things that are not true. He cited different experts and universities that had engendered reports appearing to confirm such a notion. Several other publications within the last few years have written similar articles. A few of the titles include, "Skeptics Say, ‘Do Your Own Research.’ It’s Not That Simple." (New York Times January 3, 2022), "These four words (' do your own research') are helping spread vaccine misinformation" (CNN September 20, 2021), and the list of such titles go on and on. But, most recently, lots of papers have published this genre of brainstorm to the world that is today softheaded enough to buy into such nonsense.
As I was reading the article, I said to myself, "I see! It's rather like the so-called 'fact checkers' online who are always telling us that their sources and opinions are unquestionably more worthy and accurate than ours. What a shuck. And then I was reminded of one of the prominent cults I have so often studied and publicly criticized. That outfit has a history filled with false prophecies, doctrinal flip-flops and is the publisher of all sorts of assorted, arguably questionable material.
I remembered an article written--one of several articles, in fact--instructing their people not to even listen to anyone who would level accusation or criticism toward what they have called their 'mother' organization. In that article in their world-circulated magazine, their followers were warned to "Avoid Independent Thinking" (Watchtower 1/15/83). But the very reliable Bible ('user's' manual') tells us. "But test all things carefully [so you can recognize what is good]. Hold firmly to that which is good" (1 Thessalonians 5:21).
As we're seeing more and more in the 21st century, formerly sentient humans who do not conduct their own research, who relegate their minds to merely serve as receptors of entertainment, who ignore the truth on every level while blindly following the lies and misinformation laid before them by liars and hypocrites, and subsequently live in constant fear, are conditioned and doomed to slavery or worse.
