The president's latest Executive Order

With our debt rising and our infrastructure desperately in need of repairs, the President took that pen he said he had, to sign an executive order requiring that all Federal Contractors must pay up to 7 days of sick pay. The estimate is that some 300,000 workers will be effected.

Fewer projects will be done because each will cost more for labor. This follows other incremental executive changes ordered by the President. It also follows Presidential Executive order 13502 that "encourages" federal agencies to use union workers for large scale projects. But why do we need unions at all? Those workers who are paying union dues could just get their rights via the all powerful Federal Government. Ah, but then where would electioneering money come from you ask? Unions raise money via dues, spend that money to support candidates who then pay them back with rules that favor them in contract negotiations. Is this a great country or what? Jennie Veary
