Easter Sunday morning, April 9, 2023 with the ‘Real News’ getting ready to come with the sunrise. “He is Risen!”, glorious ‘News’ impossible to change in almost 2000 years; ‘News’ virtually impossible to change by any faker of which there are so many working in what we call the legacy media; news too far away from the realm of any mere mortal politician working feverishly to try to downplay or change it.

Outside my windows as I write this piece, a resplendent silver moon is shining over the Almighty’s majestic Atlantic Ocean waiting like the rest of for the Easter morning sunrise.

We go back to that first Easter morning captured by historian, journalist Paul Badde, author of ‘The Face of God’, when the rising Jerusalem sun helped Apostles Peter and John find the cloth that covered the Face of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in a dark tomb.

The video on the front page of Canada Free Press since Dec. 22, 2014, which I hold dear as this news site’s most cherished item, is still there.

It was back in 2014 when CFP first uploaded a YouTube, ‘Paul Badde: The Holy Face of Jesus: The Veil of Manoppello, to its front page, recently rescued after eight years from Google, and now gaining far better attention on Rumble where it continues to be found.

The video starts with a beautiful prayer by Saint John Paul II in Italian, but Badde tells the rest of this remarkable true story in English.

As Father Victor Brown, O.P. writes,…

“On Holy Saturday, those who love Our Lord heave a sigh of relief that his sufferings are over and he is resting in the tomb, on the divinely-instituted day of rest—the Sabbath. As God the Creator rested on the first Saturday after creating the world, so God the Redeemer rested in the tomb on that Saturday after redeeming the world by his death on the cross. The soul of Our Lord did not go to the hell of the condemned, but rather to those who died in God’s grace before Jesus did. They awaited there the moment of his salvation. All the holy patriarchs, prophets, and virtuous people who lived from the time of the original sin until that day when Jesus died on the cross—all were eagerly awaiting his redemption. Now, he goes to announce to them that their waiting is over and very soon they will be with him in heaven. So soon, in fact, that when he spoke to the good thief on the cross beside his own, he said, “THIS DAY, you will be with me in Paradise.”
“Then the day of rest ended with the setting of the sun that Saturday night. Not only did the sun set upon one day, but upon the Old Testament; it rose to the New Testament of the resurrected Christ. Imagine the joy that Saint Joseph, who would have been among those who waited, experienced when Our Lord came to bring the good news. And then let us try to imagine the immense happiness that flooded the immaculate heart of Our Lady when the newly-risen Christ came to her on that first Easter morning. The first annunciation had caused her to be deeply disturbed, as Saint Luke’s gospel tells us. The archangel has to reassure her: “Mary, do not be afraid.” But this time, there is no disturbance, no need for reassurance. This ineffably beautiful son of hers whom she literally adores for he is God, is the most thrilling thing she has ever seen as he stands before her and, no doubt, embraces her in all the glory of his new life. She is transformed into one exultant cry: “Alleluia”!
"Let us unite ourselves with the joy of the Mother of God as she, and we, celebrate the resurrection of Our Savior into the new life which he shares with us. Thank you for seeking God’s truth. God bless you.”

“I am with you always”

Just to think that only on Holy Thursday this week, Pope Francis declared at the Chrism Mass that “nostalgia for times past is a sin against the Holy Spirit”. (Nostalgia for times past--Barnhardt)

To plucky Ann, myself and surely millions of others, “nostalgia for times past” is really nostalgia in the present—the one that keeps alive the traditional Latin Mass, the Mass of the Saints.

Message to Pope Francis:

“Nostalgia for times past” is not and could never be “a sin against the Holy Spirit, Who, as part of the Holy Trinity, is God. Traditionalists will win the ongoing battle to keep alive the beautiful Latin Mass.

It was three years ago last month when all Masses were shut down worldwide by COVID-19 when it was more important than ever to pray and still is. Praying is really the only way to stay in touch with the Creator. It was dispiriting and depressing that after years of being shuttered, authorities re-opened them to only 30% of their original congregational capacity. But during all this sad time of massive human longing, the Almighty continued to live in the hearts of the faithful.

Why do I take heart that people are still finding the Paul Badde video some eight years after it first went up? Because one way or another, millions, worldwide, keep searching for our Savior’s Blessed Face. And most likely always will. “I am with you always”-Matthew 28.20.

The Divine Shepherd by Murillo

‘Paul Badde: The Holy Face of Jesus, the Veil of Manoppello’ tells the true story of the First Easter Morning; a story about what Apostles Peter and John found in the tomb where Jesus was laid to rest; a story that feeds a yearning—an unending yearning of the human soul.

We take heart in knowing that All things—including the Coronavirus—are passing. No virus, no plague, no orchestrated One World Order, no gang-up of any political party with the media, can ever change what happened on that first Easter morning, nor on this one. No NEWS, no matter how dramatic or disturbing can ever transcend the best news of all time:”HE IS RISEN!”

On this Easter morning, CFP wishes ‘Happy Easter, not just to Paul Badde and to Renee in California who sent the picture of Murillo’s painting of the Christ Child and the lamb, but to each and everyone reading this:

Happy Easter in a world, caught up in a now anti-Christian era because Jesus Christ is still King.
