American taxpayers being held hostage

The roof is caving in!

The dramatic video of the Metrodome roof caving in is a timely, visual metaphor of the dramatic implosion of our freedoms and sovereignty, especially if you are a taxpaying citizen and patriot in the sense of the word. The major difference is that the implosion of the dome occurred without injuring anyone, while the Progressive mugging is overwhelming everyone in the country.

As the Progressive cold front swept in on the winds of lies that have buffeted our Constitutional shell, and combined with the weight of its oppressive legislation and departmental mandates, it is only a matter of time before these forces collude to rip through our Constitutional freedoms. Unfortunately, the bloom is off the rose of the euphoria of November 2nd. As we await the vote to prevent the promised Obama tax increases from being imposed upon all American taxpayers, we are finding there are troubling ‘add-ons’ to what should be a very simple bill. Players from both sides of the aisle are inserting self-serving ‘gifts’ to the bill in an attempt to bribe those who selfishly threaten to scuttle this important tax-rate legislation. Everyone knows the country can’t suffer the detrimental impact of tax increases upon our fragile economy, but, instead of acting responsibly, our elected ‘representatives’ are acting like spoiled brats, dividing the spoils at the expense of the American taxpayer! This contributes mightily to how our national debt and deficit continually mushrooms, and this is exactly what the majority voted against in the mid-term election. Apparently, those in Washington, D. C. still haven’t heard the impassioned cries of those who have sent them to D. C. to do the work of the American people! Leadership will say this is how things are done inside the shallow walls of Congress. This is insulting, and it is done with our money! Weren’t Republicans locked out of the negotiations during the ‘sausage grinding’ of bribes that were used to ram Obama-Care through both Houses of Congress? All of a sudden, give and take is all the rage. Sadly, the ‘taking’ is what we, the taxpayers, are forced to suffer as the giving to lobbyists and special interest groups continues, unabated. This is a lame-duck session, but the GOP shouldn’t go lame on the voters who have given them a second chance to bring about real change to the legislative process. The self-serving ‘horse-trading’ and earmarks must end! Equally troubling is the appointment of misguided Fred Upton to head the House Energy & Commerce Committee and the ‘Prince of Pork,’ Hal Rogers, to head the House Appropriations Committee. Mr. Upton is on the right side of so many issues, but he has taken a bite from the green apple of the anti-carbon apostates. The TEA Party has yeomen work ahead of it in recruiting qualified and ethical candidates to retire these and other Progressive Republicans. If anyone is being held hostage, it is the unemployed person who wants to work, and the small businessperson who is reluctant to add employees for fear of the burdens of increased taxes, Stealth-Care, inflated carbon-related energy costs, and the moratorium of drilling in the Gulf. The vast majority of the unemployed detest being treated like animals at the zoo, waiting for feeding time in the way of appropriations for unemployment ‘benefits’. Future generations will hold this and previous generations of politicians and voters responsible for allowing the actions of a determined minority of Progressive pirates in both parties to loot the taxpayer and usurp our freedoms and sovereignty for personal gain. ‘Santa’ Hudson (U. S. District Judge Henry Hudson in Richmond, VA.) has handed the American people and employers an early Christmas present by striking down the individual mandate of Stealth-Care. Now we await the lengthy Supreme Court review and ruling of this abysmal assault. Hopefully, the GOP leadership will get the wax out of their ears and begin governing with empathy and within the inspired guidelines of the Constitution. This would lead to a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
