The Unfettered Truth

Watch Out!! The same old worn-out political trickery designed to deceive We, the people, is beginning to be rolled out in desperation. The game plan is as easy to read as it was predictable. Many members of the touted untouchable and venerable leftist ruling regime will start jumping ship under the guise of philosophical differences in attempts to save their political butts. Usually a phrase such as: “You just hide-and-watch” would be appropriate here; however, now is the time to step up and be vocal with our vigilance. It is We, the people who must exercise our RIGHT to govern ourselves and begin by revealing the unfettered truth concerning the actions of OUR current elected officials whose main purpose seems to be the acquisition and maintenance of power rather than representation.

One of the first members of the ruling class to “jump on out there” was Rep. Dan Boren, OK.-Dist.2. Despite his voting record, he has somehow managed to maintain a conservative image outside Washington. This “perception-deception” is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain as more and more concerned and disgusted citizens are taking a more active role and getting involved in this 233 year long American experiment in self-governance. We are required to be vigilant and vocal relative to the individuals who will be attempting to distance themselves from the socialist policies they once supported and would continue to support were it not for the grassroots back-lash. A recent News Max article shines a perfect spotlight on the scenario described above. In it, Boren is touted as “Conservative”. In part; due to his timely action of all of a sudden realizing Obama is “too liberal” and publicly saying so. The article unquestionably leaves the reader with a “Way to go, Dan!” sensation. As is the case with most political statements…a more detailed examination is needed. Below is the reply sent to News Max, with links (footnoted) to information that supports the statements made as well as the original News max article: Regarding the News Max article; “Democrat Boren Says Obama's Too Liberal, Unpopular” of 16 July 2009. Please…do not fall into the same tired political trickery of days gone by. “One of the most conservative members of the Democratic Party” you say of Boren, PLEASE! Just eight days prior, the Tulsa World released a study pointing out that Boren has backed Obama 81% of the time since the new ruling regime came to power. Boren has also racked up an impressive voting record relative to the Pelosi agenda. Not only did he vote to provide her with the title “Speaker of the House”, he has voted just over 93% of the time with her since then. Voting with her is nothing more than promoting the same ideology she shares with Obama. Does this translate into “Conservative”? I will argue that it does not even approach Conservative leanings. Boren is quite cleverly trying to back away from his clear and evidenced support of Obama and Pelosi due to the vulnerability he now has in the upcoming mid-term election. Oklahoma’s District 2 is among the most conservative in the nation and this kind of support for Socialist, freedom grabbing policy will not be tolerated by his constituency. Boren stated during a recent KTOK radio interview that the freshly passed Cap and Trade legislation his party approved was the worst legislation he had seen during his time in federal office. If it were as bad as he made it out to be (and it was) why did he not publicly fight against its passage? Why did he not stand up and speak out on the floor of the House and demand of his colleagues to consider what damage Cap and Trade would do to the America we cherish? No, he sheepishly stood by and waited until the number of Yea votes required to ensure passage was reached then posted his Nay vote. He also referenced a belief he held that it was the “fringe” of the party that got this legislation passed. Fringe? Since when did “majority” translate into “fringe”? Boren is a part of this majority and by simply being a part of the majority he is an accomplice to promoting the Pelosi-Obama agenda. So, once again, I ask you not to fall for this act of political perception alteration. The citizens of Oklahoma’s District 2 are paying way too much attention today for this to be effective. A bad choice, or a bad decision or two can be overlooked. A track record of support for nation harming, un-American CHANGE can not be glossed over or made to disappear. It is up to us to ensure the unfettered truth does not become clouded and lost due to calculated manipulation of hand-picked scenarios. It is simply our RIGHT to ensure accountability and demand transparency. Never give up, never give in, and never settle for less. The truth may hurt at times, but, in the end…it is the truth.
