The Useless United Nations

We need to get out of the United Nations. They need to move their headquarters. They are making a complete fool out of the United States and we allow it. We pay 22 percent of the operating budget and 28 percent of the peace keeping budget.

Now the world is faced with the verified fact that chemical weapons were used in Syria, something the United Nations has clearly defined rules against and the UN is dithering about taking action. It can't even agree to simply "condemn" Syria. I do not think that the United States should be in the position of policing the world. That is why we have the UN. This incident is another example that our involvement in the United Nations serves to funnel money from us and to create anti-American policies. When there is actually a crisis where the United Nations clearly has responsibility, they roll over and play dead. At the same time we have to recognize that the leadership of this country is viewed as inept. The people of the United States face many challenges. Pulling out of the UN would solve several of them. We can't afford the United Nations on the income from our part time jobs. Wayne A. White
