Where has interest in DCA gone?

The Wait Continues

DCA, a hopeful drug that shows potential to kill cancer cells, is still not on the market. When the first news of DCA’s potential was released by papers across Canada, thousands of ‘cancer’ patients began a desperate search to find it. Since then, it has been reported that research on DCA has continued but at very minimum levels as far as ‘research’ levels go in the ‘research world’. So the wait continues.

The question I hope all people in this country ask “Why is the funding so low for DCA? Why has the majority of the current funding for DCA research been made possible by individual donations directly TO the DCA research team in Edmonton? If you march, walk, skip, ride, wear pink or just plain donate to the huge ‘Cancer Research’ organization, do you wonder who gets the money? Why is DCA not getting adequate funding from an organization that is ‘dedicated’ to finding THE cure, (Cancer Research) given the promising results reported on DCA? DCA is not patentable nor is it expensive. It is cheap. The cost of making DCA is a non issue compared to the cost of chemo, radiation and surgery which are the only three options our revered cancer facilities offer. If you, a person with cancer, do not qualify for any of the only three sanctioned cancer options available, you have no where to go except out-of-country on your own dime. I wonder if those who give so unselfishly and with great belief in the system of fighting cancer ever wonder about where the research money goes. I know I do. L. G. Anderson Spruce Grove, AB
