The War Between Americans

The war between the North and South regarding slavery forged a nation that believed personal freedom and responsibility were two of the most important aspects of an Americans life. Americans always had the ability to rally around the flag and all it stood for except for the last few years.

For the last four, I have seen the anger and experienced the utter hatred that now exists between Americans simply because you do not agree politically. In Canada, we do not fight over politics. We discuss, debate and ponder the opinions of everyone over a good beer. Canadians hate to waste a good beer. In America it has turned into a hockey fight the likes of which I have never seen in all my 68 years. Name calling tops the list of weaponry and when common sense and reason are winning an argument personal attacks of the worst kind are then fired at will. Innuendos and out right lies are also used to try and demoralize the opponent because in the political arena between the right and left in America today someone must have the last word. Especially on the left. Never thought this old Canuck would live to see the day when Americans were at each others throats. Unable to recognize the fight was started by politicians who are more concerned about keeping the power of the office they were elected to than serving the public. A country that has always been able to rally around their flag and all the good that America still stands for now sits by while its elected officials try and demonize and marginalize people who are standing up and speaking out because they are afraid the great American Republic may just be in its dying days. Patriots who stood up and said they have had enough of politics as usual and are going to get involved to try and take back control of the parties who are supposed to represent them. Never before have I seen people who were elected to office on a platform of fiscal responsibility stand their ground yet get called 'terrorists' and worse for doing so. Fiscal responsibility is not just a personal one but in our governments essential if our countries are to prosper and grow. It is long past time for Americans to join together in what they can agree on and put all else aside. As a member of the Tea Party I have yet to have a Liberal or a right wing Conservative in America tell me how they can argue against the main principles we support which are: Limited government, Fiscal and Personal responsibility, The rule of law and Protecting the national sovereignty of our nations. Every single day I have to break up arguments between Americans that have to do with everything else BUT these five simple principles. No one ever answers my simple question. What is it about those five simple principles you on the far left have a problem with? Crickets. So here I sit listening to the left continue to demonize the most American group to ever stand up since the civil war that freed your country all those years ago. They were right to stand against slavery all those years ago but that had to do with the color of a man's skin. Like it or not, you are facing slavery of a different kind where you will answer to your government for everything if you do not start to stand together against it. But I am just a Canadian listening to Americans fight with each other while their elected officials try and put horns and a tail on the everyday American who has finally said enough is enough and has entered the fight to save their great nation. In my day my dad would have taken me out to the woodshed for name calling. Biden was born about my time so he should have known better and deserves the trip.
