JEJU ISLAND, South Korea Jeju Island is located off the shores of South Korea. It is a famous holiday destination among South Koreans and has lately become popular among travelers from all over the world. It is not only a land of rugged beauty but also a place rich in myths and folklore.

One such popular myth took place in Samseonghyeol Holes, now a famous tourist spot in the area. According to legend, the first inhabitants of the island were three gods who emerged from the holes and established the Kingdom of Tanma, now known as Jeju Island. The Samseonghyeol Holes are considered hallowed grounds in the island and are now a venue for a memorial service celebrating the founding of Jeju. More...
