Thou shall not mock Liberal Celebrities

Thin Skin Of The Day

Today, February 2011, I am no Internet genius. My html skills are barely passable, but I’ll be the first to admit I’m a quantum leap more knowledgeable now when it comes to computers and the Internet than I was in 1994.

NBC has fired the person who posted the video of former Today Show anchors Katie Couric, Bryant Gumbel, and Elizabeth Vargas asking “What is the Internet?,” according to WaPo’s Rob Pegoraro (via TechDirt).
Then again, I’m not an overpaid, egotistical, thin-skinned liberal news anchor.
The video was off-air footage taken from 1994 of the three hosts trying to define the “Internet.” Again, the video was from 1994 – a time when the Internet hadn’t yet taken over our lives. So, why did NBC feel compelled to fire the guy over this? The video does no harm at all to the news anchors, and it could even be considered an actual viral promotion for the Today Show.
Why? Because liberal celebrities truly believe they can criticize and make all of us the butt of their jokes and ridicule, but under no circumstances are they to be mocked. And should that video be made to go away as efficiently as the “library card video”, Katie, Bryant, and Elizabeth will be calling their publicists to complain they aren’t getting enough attention.
