The Thomas More Law Center honors the 30 American warriors — 22 of them Navy SEALs — who died Friday evening when their Chinook helicopter was apparently shot down by enemy insurgents in Afghanistan.
This tragedy marks the deadliest single loss for U.S. forces in the decade-long war in Afghanistan. These fallen warriors had fought many battles to keep our country free from terror; and their sacrifice, as well as the sacrifices of their families, will never be forgotten.
These heroes were on a courageous mission to assist a squad of Army Rangers pinned down by heavy enemy fire in a fierce firefight. Most of the 22 SEALs were part of SEAL Team 6, the unit that executed the daring raid on Osama bin Laden's compound in May.
The Americans troops who lost their lives included 22 SEALs, four Army crewman, three Air Force combat controllers, as well as a dog handler and his dog.
Please pray for these fallen warriors and their families and for all those who have lost their lives defending our great Nation. Also pray for our troops now in harm’s way. God Bless the men and women of our military and God Bless America.
