Democracy Dies in Darkness

Time to call Speaker Pelosi treasonous

I know actual arrests for treason are generally limited to 20-year CIA double agents, or some such thing. But perhaps it’s time to arrest Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi for treason seeing she’s trying to run the House (and the country) in ways that go against the Constitutional process she is supposed to be a part of.

Pelosi has been secretly putting together an estimated $1.2 trillion bill

Representative government is dead in the “people’s house.” Citizen input is not necessary, we should just accept Speaker Pelosi’s directives, much like we would under Communism, where a Central Committee run by a Chairman dictates everything the Party, and thereby the country, must believe and abide by. Pelosi has been secretly putting together an estimated $1.2 trillion bill to be presented to the House this week. As reported on by Kristin Tate on today’s Mornings with Maria Bartiromo (Fox Business Network) the bill includes $2000 checks for all Americans, $1 trillion for bailing out state and local governments, expanded “paycheck guarantee” benefits, $25 billion for the US Postal Service and, oh by the way, money for COVID-19 testing. They are planning to introduce this bill later this week in her now usual way of not giving House members, let alone we the people, a chance to read it and actually have a national debate on. That’s OK, they say, Congressmen will have 72 hours notice before gathering to vote on it sight unseen. No consideration of the principle of representative government at all. Sorry Founding Fathers, we have someone running the House who sees the American people are the subjects of her political fiefdom.

Pelosi and her band of political pirates

The likely strategy here is to push a bill that has no compromise with the opposition party, which means it has zero chance of passing the Republican-majority Senate. That makes it simply a campaign tool that they will belligerently use to falsely call Republicans and the President obstructionists who believe American suffering is necessary to re-elect Donald Trump. Also, they may be hoping the President and the Senate let them have a bill Pelosi style (you have to pass it to see what’s in it) because of fears how the mainstream Democrat media will portray them. But that may not work now, since fear of Democrat portrayal of Republicans has been greatly diminished during the give-it-right-back-to-them Trump administration. Meanwhile, they will try and get back to converting the House of Representatives into a full-time Stalinist investigative organization. Having been emboldened by media treating everything the Democrats say as absolute truth and needing no journalistic scrutiny, they will continue making up lies about Trump and Republicans to build a fake most-scandalous-administration-ever story to use as part of their national election campaign strategy. They set the pattern for so-called oversight investigative committees during impeachment, so that will continue, if Pelosi and her band of political pirates even show up in Washington before Election Day! (OK, Americans wouldn’t let that happen, no matter how much the media enables their outright hijacking of the Constitution.) They will get back to their phony investigative ways, rather than their primary role - legislating! That means they will set up the House committee rules so they limit and remove the rights of the opposition Party, abandon due process rights for those they investigate, pre-determine their guilt and make up charges against them as they go. Meanwhile, the Washington Post continues to daily carry the banner that unwittingly describes their role in the process, silently watching in agreement the attempted deconstruction of our Constitutional republic, along with their media cohorts, as they daily announce, “Democracy Dies in Darkness.”
