To the Creator No Prayer Too Insignificant To Answer It was only the tiniest of sparrows, but there it lay on the deck, stunned after flying into the thick glass of the window. After a few moments, it somehow struggled to its tiny feet, wobbly, then remaining stock still for 15 minutes that seemed like an eternity. It stood there as though cast in concrete, not moving a thing. Everything in this household, including pet dog, Yankee was held in suspense. We didn’t want small-dog-big-bark balustrade Yankee to frighten the little bird out of its heartbeat.
Saying a fervent prayer that called on the Almighty to save the sparrow, we waited and watched. My every morning prayer: “Thank You Father for Your Creation. Thank You for knowing each one of us before placing us in our mothers’ wombs. Thank You for even knowing the number of hairs on our heads, the number of sparrows that fall. Thank you, Father for feeding the birds…. After some time, the sparrow which had remained standing motionless for what seemed the longest time, took wing. It’s first cautious flight took it only a few feet away to the deck balustrade. On its second attempt it took wing, and to our delight, flew off. Thank you, Father for answering a prayer that may have seemed insignificant to others, but not to You. In the horrors of a world heaping hatred on Christians and Conservatives all for just being who they are; a world to which what to wear to Harry and Meagan’s wedding surpasses the plight of little Alfie Evans; a world where families are divided according to whether they believe in President Donald Trump or his failed opponent Hillary Clinton, comes the aching need to turn to God’s Creation to keep us from dark despair. In my case there are these favorites:sparrows, geese and the humble donkeys of the farmer’s field. To me, the most precious Twitter of them all is the twitter of the birds, the ones called in this space, God’s orchestra who announce dawn just before each daybreak. Because of the desk top publishing that is my business life, I pay attention to the other, much less important Twitter, but only long after the one the Good Lord keeps sending us each day. No geese flying solo or in their V-formation ever goes by without capturing my admiring attention.

Ever since reading about why geese fly in formation and how one or two geese break rank, staying behind with a fallen member of the flock, staying with the fallen until they die or rally back, the geese have my admiration for a kind of loyalty that is legendary. If only these traits could be copied by people. It was only yesterday when the Creator did not consider my sparrow prayer too insignificant to answer. It reminded me that God answers our prayers no matter how tiny or insignificant we may be. This morning, ‘m back to watching the geese flying overhead with a wish that I could be among their ranks, flying far above all White Noise and the latest lies from the Mainstream and Social media. So the video sent my way by Mike Ko about a man who actually flies with the geese could not have been more timely Forget despair and fly with the geese. Let your every morning prayer be the one that says: “Thank You Father, for Your Creation”.

God’s Creation, the Flying Geese

God’s Creation, the Flying Geese If, like me, you are blessed enough to live in the Great North East, every day now you can see and hear the geese making their exuberant annual trek south for the winter. There’s something ineffably haunting in the sound of their honking. For me their V-formation flights and haunting honks kept me spellbound before even discovering the inspiration that comes from the science that explains it.

Hate-Heaping Desperado Dems Can Never Vanquish Christmas

My favorite ‘Christmas Carol’ is the honking of geese flying overhead; my favorite because of innate assurance that the honking of the geese will remain long after Christmases past or present. How many times will the distinctive sound of the geese as I work return to remind me that worrisome as they may be, special counsel Robert Mueller, the filth of Hollywood, Barack Obama waiting in luxury and comfort to strike out at America from ‘Resistance Leader’ status, are, like all other earthly creatures, only passing things while in the Almighty’s perfect Creation, geese get to stay?

Signs that Endure

Signs that Endure Many times throughout the day, the geese are honking their way across the skies outside our windows. It’s as if they want all humans to know that they are on their way south. Their distinctive honking is pure enthusiasm. It takes only a little imagination to think their honking is like calling out to other geese in their signature V-formations, “Only 100 miles to go!” or “Look up at the skies, folks, we’re heading for the sunny south again!” It was coming upon their characteristics in an Internet write-up that made me an unabiding fan of God’s geese. Their loyalty to each other is truly remarkable.
