Another Canadian soldier has given his life, while on active duty in Afghanistan. It is sad when one of our own is killed in action. When this happens almost every newspaper, news channel and Internet news provider informs the Canadian public about this tragic death.

One thing that I don't understand about the news media and I hope someone out there will kindly explain this to me.The only time that we hear about our troops in Afghanistan is when someone is killed.I very seldom hear about the reconstruction efforts, the humanitarian aid and the good that our troops are doing over there. As a Canadian I would like to see more news information of the good that our troops are doing.I think that it is both equally important to report it when a soldier gives his life as well as the good that our troops are doing. When I talk to a soldier about Afghanistan, he tells me about the good that they are doing, but sadly the news media is not reporting this to the Canadian public. My question is Why.I think that Canadians have a right to know. Steve Martin Toronto.
