Too big to fail

It seems like the notion of building businesses that flourish, provide jobs, support community efforts, pay taxes and yes, sometimes, allow owners to get rich, has become hated by much of the population. It is a mindset fed by the media and by government.

Yet, those same people and institutions who abhor large business have no problem bailing them out when the failure will hurt their family or community. Well, now we have created a "too big to fail" government sugar daddy. There are two types of people who are dependent on the government. The first have earned every cent they receive and fear government's management of their funds. Seniors and the military have witness government raiding of their supposedly secure accounts and sacred promises. While the welfare recipients have been given no tools to escape the government bondage. Sadly, both groups deserve better. Our seniors and military should be able to trust the promises made to them. Those on welfare deserve a hand up not someone stepping on their fingers every time they try to move up a notch. I would submit that the reason Barack Obama won this election was a populace who fear the loss of their paycheck. I wonder how long before those people will act out like those in Greece?
