Well, well, well .... what’s this? Trump To Take Action On LA Homeless Crisis? ‘Very Large Delegation’ Reportedly In Town For Talks /

“President Trump has ordered White House officials to conduct a sweeping crackdown on homelessness in California, citing the state’s growing crisis,” the Washington Post reports. “The talks have intensified in recent weeks. Administration officials have discussed using the federal government to get homeless people off the streets of Los Angeles and other areas and into new government-backed facilities, according to two officials briefed on the planning. But it is unclear how they could accomplish this and what legal authority they would use.”

Could somebody please tip off POTUS and let him know that the Old Veterans Guard has been calling for getting homeless Veterans off the streets of Los Angeles -- our nation’s capital for homeless Veterans – for more than a decade and into a “government-backed facility” …. the National Veterans Home at the Los Angeles VA. Unfortunately, the only “government-backed facility” where homeless Veterans end up is the Los Angeles County jail as witnessed recently and repeatedly by L.A. County deputy sheriffs who arrest homeless Veterans directly outside the Los Angeles VA for loitering, trespassing, disorderly conduct, public nuisance, etc., etc.

“Speaking at a Politico event Monday evening in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti chief of state Breelyn Pete said a “very large delegation” from the Trump Administration was in town for a scheduled meeting on homelessness, according to Politico.”

How large is large? And is this the same Los Angeles Mayor who promised then First Lady Michelle Obama in June, 2014, that he would end Veteran homelessness by the end of 2015? For the record, the OVG has repeatedly reached out to the Mayor’s office and all we ever got was absolute silence and rejection.

However, on June 12, I had a chance encounter with the Mayor and respectfully requested a meeting with him regarding Veteran homelessness. He assured me he would, and then gave me the e-mail address of Christina D. Miller, the Deputy Mayor for City Homelessness Issues, to arrange the meeting. The Mayor and I shook hands and shortly thereafter I sent an e-mail to Ms. Miller respectfully requesting a meeting with the Mayor that he promised we would have. I’m still waiting. Did I mention this same Mayor promised our Nation’s First Lady that he would personally end Veteran homelessness by the end of 2015? Why would President Trump meet with this pathological liar who champions a “sanctuary city” to protect illegal criminals over housing Veteran homelessness? Garcetti was so self-deceived as a failed “leader” that he incredulously planned on running against Trump for the 2020 Presidency of the United States.

The forgoing notwithstanding, the OVG will take President Trump and the “very large delegation” in town seriously, just as soon as they admit we have a humanitarian crisis of Biblical proportion and publicly declare Los Angeles to be in a “State of Emergency” for homeless Veterans, and then immediately call in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to build a “Sanctuary Tent City” backed up with a “Search & Rescue Mission” to “Bring Our Homeless Veterans HOME” to the National Veterans Home. President Trump must also sign an immediate Executive Order that evicts each and every illegal occupant on this sacred Federal VA land and direct the DOJ and FBI to fully investigate and prosecute all the crime and corruption that has defrauded thousands upon thousands of disabled Veterans for decades from their benefits .... a lawfully deeded National Home.
