Unfulfilled promises

I understand that some promises cannot be fulfilled. It is the nature of politics to over promise and under-deliver.

My issue is with not even trying to deliver those promises. When that happens, promises are no longer promises, they are intentional lies that were never intended to be acted on. The Huff Post says that during the 2008 campaign, B. Obama made 508 promises and has delivered on only 38%. How you view that will depend on whether you are a conservative or a liberal. For example, the failure to close Guantanamo Bay could be viewed as a promise that shouldn’t have been made or kept. On the other hand the failure to restrict lobbyist access to the White House could be considered a promise that certain was worthy and should have been honored. Look at the President’s previous campaign promises then look at the effort made to achieve them. Next, look which ones you think could have been delivered? Do you think he has demonstrated a willingness to compromise? Do you think he has handled foreign relations well? Do you think he has made a sincere attempt to improve the lot for the American people? Do you think he is respected around the world? Do you think he has spent too much time on talk shows and late night TV? Do you think he understands the function and respects the other branches of government or do you think his appointment of the czars has undermined Congress?
