Israel is waking up to a nasty new reality. In preparation to his Middle East trip, President Obama warned that partners and friends must be forthcoming among themselves. King Solomon’s proverb immediately comes to mind: “Better an uncovered rebuke than hidden love” Proverbs 27:5.
A speech to the world awaits us tomorrow. Once again, President Obama is about to bow deeply before the Muslim World, possibly in appeasement, possibly in reverence, waving a white flag over our country. O! say does that star-spangled banner still wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
Francis Scott Key ends The Star Spangled Banner lyrics reminding us that “conquer we must, when our cause it is just / And this be our motto: ‘In God is our trust.’ / And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave / O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!” Contrary to our national anthem and the aspirations of being a just, believing society, reality starts to resemble a caricature of not long ago showing a foreign geo-political religious banner waving over the White House. Is our own President, sworn in less than half a year ago, about to usher in this new reality?
The President wants to construct what no other President before him was able to conquer – a peace in the Middle East. Unlike JFK’s time, the global landscape has drastically changed. There is an armed group of hooligans that care not about their own lives or that of anyone else. They do not want to improve the lives of their people. They want to maim and murder as many Jews only because they are Jews. They state it to the world and repeat it over the Mosques loudspeakers every Friday.
Instead of investing in infrastructure and education, they hoard billions in aid in numbered accounts in Switzerland and elsewhere. They send their people to enter crowded discos, restaurants, hotels and shopping centers and blow themselves up. They mix metal nuts and bolts with rat poison or AIDS-tainted blood to inflict additional harm. They shoot rockets at population centers, at hospitals where their own brethren are being treated.
They kidnap and torture people while alive and then parade their mutilated bodies for the world to see. They slit the heads of their enemies, using swords and broadcast it live on the internet – 7th Century brutality mingled with 21st Century technology. They bury women alive or stone them to death; at times the only fault of the woman is that she was raped. They do this and so much more in the name of an all-merciful god.
They have raised their children on hatred, so those who demand peace must realize – it is an impossible task; it will not be achieved in our lifetime. Bringing about a new world order by crashing Israel to its knees and superimposing its destruction under the heading “Two State Solution” will only usher the victors more rapidly – onto the lawn of the White House. The President needs to listen to the enemy itself, in its own words. The enemy is not bashful in the least telling the world exactly what is on its mind and it manages to time such pronouncements in the most impeccable manner.
We now live in a time of a worldwide upheaval. North Korea, China, India, Pakistan, Iran, Russia, Venezuela are pieces slowly aligning themselves on the chessboard, soon to form alliances reminding some of World War II. This time around it would not be a radio station and a land invasion. Many decades have passed, and the sophistication today calls for more powerful measures – missiles carrying either biological or nuclear warheads, an electromagnetic pulse that will cause a cardiac arrest to our nation-body or a militarized-grade viral or bacterial agent used as a vehicle of inflicting death in massive quantities. To make it plausible, the carrier may be one of those indoctrinated suicide squads awaiting their 72 virgins in heaven.
World War III may usher in an Armageddon the like of which was never before experienced. The Black Plague, the Spanish Inquisition and the Holocaust combined, then magnified a hundred thousand times, may partially describe what is yet to come. It all swivels around us, can be physically felt, ready to settle down upon us. Pick and choose from among the various flying elements, extend a hand, grab and then again.
We will not be able to say it was the act of mad men in Iran or North Korea. The fanatics will not be appeased if we bow down and say we are now a Muslim nation. They already declared President Obama’s Speech to the Muslim World to be an insult and a heresy. We must listen well, for it is all in front of us: The weaker we are perceived, the worse our fate would be.
