Was McAuliffe’s Campaign Attack On Parents Proof He Knew The Fix Was In?Will Terry McAuliffe prove to be the first candidate who was already elected before he even ran? Tonight after the vote from the neck-and-neck Virginia race is counted will tell the end of the story. Given the circumstances of how the vote is counted, tonight’s swings back and forth could be like watching a live, edge-of-the-seat television drama. Mail ballots, which continue to favor Democrats, can arrive as late as Friday.
“This year, a new state law requires counties to start processing mail ballots at least seven days before Election Day so they can be counted and released on election night soon after the polls close at 7 p.m. EDT. Counties are expected to release the results of their mail ballots first, followed by early in-person votes and, finally, votes cast at local polling places on Election Day. Fairfax County officials have said they plan to follow this procedure. (NBC, Nov. 2, 2021)
“If Virginia’s mail ballots continue to favor Democrats and the Election Day votes favor Republicans, the vote count could swing back and forth, depending on which type of votes are being released.”
Defiant to the very end, McAuliffe smeared parents fighting off school boards installing CRT on school curriculum claiming there was no such thing, and was at least partially responsible for having parents being labelled “domestic terrorists” and having the FBI investigate them for: "concerns about violence, threats of violence, other criminal conduct." By continuing this kind of attack throughout the entire campaign, it’s almost as if the former governor knew something that the parents did not. Was it because he knew that no matter what he said out on the campaign trail, he would be elected anyway?

Does Fox News see only “Republican critics”—but not the thousands of parents who have a real stake in the outcome of today’s election?

Regardless of his accusations against parents trying to defend their kids from classroom indoctrination, he was joined by Barack Obama, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris out on the hustings. Interesting to note that McAuliffe chose American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten at his final rally before election—a move that parents will likely see as pouring salt on their wounds. "Wait, what? The night before the election in VA where education might be the top issue, McAuliffe is campaigning with the woman who shut down schools for 18 months?" Mark Hemingway, a senior writer at RealClearInvestigations, tweeted. "Terry McAuliffe, the Democratic hopeful in Tuesday's Virginia gubernatorial race, was mocked by Republican critics for his decision to campaign with American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten at his final rally before the election. “Weingarten is a favorite target by Republicans who see her as being ensconced in the dealings of the Democratic Party. They see her as an establishment figure and political vulnerability for McAuliffe during his campaign against Republican Glenn Youngkin. (Fox News) “Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., also took to Twitter to mock Weingarten’s appearance, posting that the "union boss responsible for shutting down schools is the final surrogate for Terry McAuliffe’s campaign.” "Virginians should vote accordingly," he posted. His tweet was subsequently retweeted by the Republican National Committee.

Why wait for a pandemic to make ”needed ventilation updates"

“Weingarten's supporters see her as a leader forced to deal with a once-in-a-generation pandemic filled with uncertainties – especially in the early days. She has the herculean task of trying to open schools all while making sure teachers and students were safe, they say. “But detractors said reopening schools became politicized, and Weingarten played a key role in that transition. "In February, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said that vaccination of teachers "is not a prerequisite for safe reopening of schools." “Weingarten, at the time, said many schools lacked the needed ventilation updates and other key measures put into place by health officials. "Vaccinations go from a priority to essential if you can’t do some of these basic mitigation strategies," she said. "Rather than keep these schools closed for months, why not vaccinate teachers more quickly?”

McAuliffe on Monday tried to tie Youngkin to former President Trump

“The Biden administration did not take a definitive stance at the time, the Associated Press reported. Republican critics saw Biden’s response as cowing to the teachers unions. (Fox News) “In May, Weingarten came out in favor of reopening due to the wide availability of vaccines and a new infusion of federal education money that removed many obstacles that prevented schools from opening. “McAuliffe on Monday tried to tie Youngkin to former President Trump. "I’m closing my campaign with you in Richmond," McAuliffe said. "He is closing his campaign with Donald Trump. Really?" "Trump held a tele-rally, but Youngkin did not participate.”
