Drowning while on a hiking trip seems to be a deadly occupational hazard for chefs who work, or have worked at the White House.

Tafari Campbell, 45, whose body was found in a pond behind President Barack Obama’s Martha Vineyard Estate, on Monday, is only the most recent one.

Popular, Buffalo WBEN radio talk show host Tom Bauerle, may have unknowingly provided the link to White House Chef drownings way back in 2016, when following the harassment that resulted in his interview of Chef Tracey Martin:

It’s 2023 and the bodies of White House chefs are still being found drowned

“Oh, the guy who hired Tracey to work for the Clintons? He's dead. One of those hiking accidents where you drown. A lot of people seem to end up dead when it comes to these Richard III-like characters.”(Tom Bauerle, Facebook, August 10, 2016)

All hell broke loose when Bauerle interviewed Martin, one-time travel chef for the Clinton White House on his show exposing “the real truth about the racist Hillary Clinton”. (CANADA FREE PRESS, Aug. 11, 2016)

“Tracey Martin appeared on my show. The one-time travel chef for the Clinton White House, spoke the real truth about the racist Hillary Clinton. Tracey's phone was hacked within days of being on my show. And his life has been turned upside-down.
“Where is the media outrage about her hypocrisy or Tracey's phone being hacked? Oh, the guy who hired Tracey to work for the Clintons? He's dead. One of those hiking accidents where you drown. A lot of people seem to end up dead when it comes to these Richard III-like characters.”
“It’s long, dark nights of the creeps for anyone who dares tell the truth about the real Hillary Clinton in the middle of the current election campaign.

It’s 2023 and the bodies of White House chefs are still being found drowned:

UPDATE: “The body of the unidentified man has been confirmed to be Barack and Michelle Obama’s personal chef, Tafari Campbell, aged 45. (Conservative Tree House, July 24, 2023)

“The original age of the victim was incorrect in the initial reporting. Despite the Obama family vacationing on the island, the Obamas were not at their home in Martha’s Vineyard at the time of the incident.

(Chicago Sun Times) – […] Tafari Campbell, 45, known as one of the chefs who brewed White House honey ale beer while Obama was in office — using honey from Michelle Obama’s famous South Lawn garden — went to work for the former first couple when they left the White House.

In a statement, the Obamas said of one of the top chefs in the White House kitchen: “Tafari was a beloved part of our family. When we first met him, he was a talented sous chef at the White House — creative and passionate about food, and its ability to bring people together. In the years that followed, we got to know him as a warm, fun, extraordinarily kind person who made all of our lives a little brighter.

“That’s why, when we were getting ready to leave the White House, we asked Tafari to stay with us, and he generously agreed. He’s been part of our lives ever since, and our hearts are broken that he’s gone.

“Today we join everyone who knew and loved Tafari — especially his wife Sherise and their twin boys, Xavier and Savin — in grieving the loss of a truly wonderful man.”

The Obama’s have been spending part of the summer in Martha’s Vineyard for years.

Massachusetts State Police said Campbell was from Dumfries, Va., and “was visiting Martha’s Vineyard at the time of his passing. President and Mrs. Obama were not present at the residence at the time of the accident.”

Meanwhile, circumstance around Tafari Campbell’s drowning death are fishy.

A paddleboarder who drowned. Videos (if real) posted by commenters following the story show he knew how to swim, and how another chef, Walter Scheib,  who served both Clinton and Bush, drowned in 2015.
