Well, Barack?

Chemical weapons, rebels, the Assad regime

In a section of a videotaped interview which is receiving wide play in the Arab media and virtually none in the Western media Russian President Vladimir Putin said "There is another question: if it turns out that the armed rebels are the ones who used weapons of mass destruction, what will the United States do with the armed rebels? And what will it do with those sponsoring the rebels? Will they stop supplying them with arms? Will it stop fighting against them?"

Well, Barack? There is credible, significant evidence that the rebels in Syria used chemical weapons and not the Assad regime. If that's true will you bomb the rebels in order to send a message that the use of chemical weapons is reprehensible and unacceptable? You're planning to bomb the regime to send that message, aren't you? If the rebels used chemical weapons why wouldn't you bomb them instead? After all, the use of chemical weapons is reprehensible and unacceptable no matter who uses them and a message has to be sent to whoever used them, doesn't it? Doesn't it? Why have you aligned the United States squarely on the side of the rebels anyway? They are all Islamists and are anti-American, anti-Western, anti-Christian and anti-Semitic to the core. They hate America and all things American and are nothing more than savages who want Islam to rule the world, America included...they don't want to live in the twenty-first century, they want to drag us all back to the seventh. A victory by them will trigger an unimaginable bloodbath in the Middle East and beyond, perhaps even a nuclear war or World War Three. Aligning with the Assad regime and crushing the rebels is in the best interests of the United States. Aligning with the rebels is most certainly not in the best interests of the United States. It makes no sense at all, so why have you done it? It wouldn't be because you're an Islamist yourself, would it? Would it? Yours sincerely, Jerry Philipson Comox, British Columbia, Canada
