What’s wrong with Red Flag Laws

What’s wrong with red flag laws? Most Americans will agree that if a person is truly challenged by a debilitating psychiatric condition, they should not have a gun. Now, I’m not referring to people living with PTSD that is under control, or eating disorders. But if someone is suffering from paranoid delusions, or has schizophrenia, or some similar condition, then they probably shouldn’t own a gun.

The problem is, and the socialist and democrat leaders know this: if a judge decides that a conservative who has many guns, doesn’t talk to his neighbors much, and runs a blog that could be perceived as xenophobic, represents a threat, they could employ a red flag law to have the police come and take his guns away. And perhaps when they come, the gun owner might struggle and make a scene, and might shout things about the end of America, big brother, and other things that mixed with his anger would make him look a little disturbed. Now, suppose another conservative, say a decent family man, but one who is concerned about a total collapse of government, and has an emergency food supply and several guns, discusses his political views with a far-left neighbor. That neighbor could then report to the authorities an exaggerated account of the man’s extremist statements and “arsenal”. An activist judge could then order the confiscation of that man’s guns. And, depending on the neighborhood, it might not even cause alarm among the neighbors and almost certainly would not be reported in the news. Eventually such confiscations could become commonplace and the “subjects” of them more and more mainstream. Then, most people, and certainly most on the far-left, will be more tolerant of armed police confiscating the privately-owned guns from American citizens who have neither been accused of any crime nor been diagnosed with any psychiatric condition. And, eventually, activist judges on the far-left could decide that anyone who thinks they need more than three guns or more than 100 rounds of ammunition, is suffering from a dangerous mental condition. And, this could happen very quickly once the law allows it.

If you can’t see the possibility that this may be the plan or at least the hope of the most extremist socialist, globalist, or far-left democrat leaders, then I think you’re naïve. Remember, every “successful” socialist or communist empire starts with controlling the press and taking away the people’s guns. Those two are essential; those who know history know this. Mao Zedong said: “The communist party must command all the guns, that way, no guns can ever be used to command the party”. I will leave the issue of control of the press for another article. To adapt the famous Martin Niemoller saying: First they came for right-wing extremists, and I didn’t speak out – Because I was not an extremist. Then they came for the preppers, and I didn’t speak out – Because I was not a prepper. Then they came for me – and there was no one left to speak for me. Speak up now Americans; make it clear that we recognize that the political leaders promoting red flag laws are against our Constitution and Bill of Rights. Christopher Morgan (amateur author)
