You won't have Charlie Rangel's ethics violations to kick around anymore

Charlie Rangel built his career on one thing: race-baiting. Ok, no. Hang on a minute. There are wwo things: Race-baiting and a seemingly endless list of ethics violations. Nope. Sorry. I forgot one. Obviously there's the race-baiting and the ethics violations, but there's also dodging taxes. So, Charlie Rangel built his career on three things. ..And now, that career is coming to an end. As The Hill reports Rangel is finally, mercifully, retiring.

Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) said on Wednesday that he still plans to retire at the end of the year, saying that he wants to leave office at the same time as the first black president. “I wanted so badly to complete the last year with President Obama," the 85-year-old Democrat said during a radio interview with WCBS 880. "And even though they never gave him a fair opportunity to do all the things that I really had dreamed that we could do together, I would be so annoyed with myself had I retired a couple of years ago.”

Yesterday we talked about how, in a sane world, an endorsement from Harry Reid would be a political kiss of death. Today, we're forced to point out that - in that hypothetical sane world - Rangel would have left Congress for a prison cell, not a cushy retirement. Again, we don't live in that world. We live here. Because of that, this taxpayer-funded sloth will gather up his filthy lucre and head home to live out his twilight years in luxury. However, a man who built his empire on exploiting division couldn't exit the building without offering one last example of his lifelong race-baiting habit. According to Rangel, Hillary will win the Democrat primary not because it's a completely rigged piece if theater, but because she has such a rapport with black voters. Bernie, he says, "doesn't know enough of us." Ahhhhh....implying racism where none exists? That's the Rangel we know and love.
