Patriotism is alive and well among the ranchers and farmers who live and work along the 500-mile-long Canada-U.S. northern border in Montana. Montana ranchers and farmers have given us something for which to be thankful this Thanksgiving weekend. Encumbered by the never-ending red tape of government agencies like the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), it would be understandable if the ranchers and farmers ignored others by continuing to go about their business. Instead they’re providing cover for our backs by putting daily “situational awareness” into play.
Related: Montana Ranchers on Canadian Border Watch Like the ranchers, farmers and land owners in other American states and Canadian provinces, Montana’s, are as sturdy as the prairie grass that is the only separation between them and multiple border crossers. They are the salt of the earth and immune to the Internet trolls who went for their throats in the aftermath of their story being picked up by Drudge. They know down at heart that if both governments in North America continue to overwhelm their citizenry with unvetted, young, male potential jihadists crossing borders as harmless Syrian “refugees”, then Americans and Canadians have no choice but to adopt the same kind of situational awareness they do for survival. The situation in both Canada and the U.S. is grim, and ignoring that the situation is grim is the equivalent of sticking our heads in the sand. In the U.S. Barack Obama is flooding America with unvetted “refugees” and felons released from prisons, pretending--with the support of Christian churches--that it is the compassionate thing to do, applying sanctimonious phrases like “this is not who we are”. In Canada, soldiers have already been giving what some news outlets have called “the heave-ho” to make room for thousands of Syrian refugees on military bases.

With absolutely no fight from Canadians--including their $1-billion-a-year taxpayer-funded Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), Obama planted his top election campaign gurus--the same ones who twice elected him-- in the campaign of the celebrity son of former Celebrity Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau. In short, Obama gave to Canada a prime minister whose first move was to dump on an unsuspecting Canada 10,000 Syrian “refugees” to be flown into the country by year’s end--with another 15,000 to follow in February--or two months later. In other eras, some over anxious Canadians used to worry about being gobbled up. or annexed by the country next door. What do you call what’s happening in 2015? Yet, there is always hope when even a handful of people like the 100 or so ranchers and farmers in Montana don’t just talk about doing the right thing, but continue to DO the right thing, ignoring the risk of being branded bigots and xenophobes. In essence, millions look to their governments for protection against Islamic terrorists, but get it from unorganized patriots. The Montana ranchers and farmers who keep situational awareness in play have been shouting the precarious state of fellow citizens from the rooftops, and on the first day after Thanksgiving 2015 managed to attract the attention of the mighty and fiercely independent Drudge Report. The Montana ranchers keeping watch on the unprotected northern border is not CFP’s story, or even wholly their own. It is the story of every citizen of North America made vulnerable by high-handed governments. Thank You Montana. God bless each and every one of you for doing the right thing when the day is at its darkest.
