Trump's wise to quit the UN Human Rights Council
This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared on Fox News.

President Trump has rightly decided to terminate U.S. membership on what UN Ambassador Nikki Haley and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo today called the “misnamed” UN “Human Rights” Council. The move comes after the administration gave the Council 17 months to get serious about reform and to stop spreading antisemitism under the false flag of promoting human rights.

Outrageous UN Vote on Jerusalem an Opportunity to Stop Paying for the Privilege of Being Disrespected<br />

For decades, the United Nations has spit in the face of the United States. The demonization of the Jewish state – modern antisemitism – has been one of many UN policy priorities totally antithetical to American values and interests.

The General Assembly vote on December 21 condemning President Donald Trump’s implementation of American law recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel ought to be the last time America takes it lying down.

The Trump Administration's Growing Palestinian Problem, Lawfare Against Israel
This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared on The Weekly Standard

President Trump has a growing Palestinian problem. Without steadfast U.S. insistence on Palestinian accountability and the supremacy of American law, it is about to get a whole lot worse for Israel and America.

On Nov. 18, 2017 the Trump administration took the straightforward decision to follow the law. It told the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) to get serious about peace or get out of the PLO’s D.C. office. One week later, on Nov. 24, 2017, the State Department took the notice to vacate off the table. The administration was suddenly “optimistic” about Palestinian peace-seeking, law-respecting, bona fides.

UN launches 65 million dollar legal pogrom to hunt down Israelis and smear Israel as a criminal stat

Oct 31, 2017 — Anne Bayefsky

This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared on PJ Media.

The United Nations has made a deal with the Palestinians to fund a 65 million dollar legal pogrom directed at Israel. The party on the Palestinian side was referred to as the “Government of the State of Palestine.”

More specifically, the “United Nations System in the occupied Palestinian territory” plans to pay eight UN bodies $64,838,510 between the years of 2018 and 2022 to hunt down individual Israelis and smear Israel as a criminal state.

Palestinians Violating U.S. Law, Twisting Israelis into War Criminals.

Oct 9, 2017 — Anne Bayefsky

This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared on

If President Trump is backtracking on his promise to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, allegedly for the sake of a “peace process,” why is he simultaneously allowing the Palestinians to violate U.S. law and sink peace unilaterally?

American law requires that funding for Palestinians be drastically curtailed if they use the International Criminal Court (ICC) to turn Israelis into war criminals. Though Palestinians have given the ICC a veritable bear hug, hundreds of millions of American dollars are still flowing into Palestinian coffers.

Will Trump seek UN or American applause at his UN debut?

Sep 18, 2017 — Anne Bayefsky

This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared on Fox News.

As Trump mounts the U.N. General Assembly stage this week for the first time, one measuring stick cuts to the chase: will ‘make America great again’ shrivel into a futile search for applause lines?

The unvarnished truth is that the General Assembly is a hostile audience for an American president. Less than half of the 193 U.N. member states are fully-free democracies. And with precious few exceptions, they share a common goal. Tying the American giant down in order to raise themselves up.

Look Who Will Be Joining the U.N. Human Rights Council

Sep 7, 2017 — Anne Bayefsky

This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared on Weekly Standard

The U.N. Human Rights Council has an election coming up in October, which can mean only one thing: A new slate of human rights abusers are poised to be elected to the U.N.‘s top human rights body.

The council already currently includes such human rights luminaries as: China, Cote d’Ivoire, Cuba, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Venezuela. They will be joined—at minimum—by the notorious Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Angola.

The election of these new states—both ranked by Freedom House in the lowest possible category of human rights protection (“not free”)—is a done deal because of a deliberate U.N. process. Each of the five U.N.

Will Nikki Haley Bark or Bite at the UN Human Rights Council?

Jun 5, 2017 — Anne Bayefsky

This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared on Fox News.
American UN Ambassador Nikki Haley has decided to wade into the shark-infested waters of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.

On June 6, 2017, she will join a decades-long list of American diplomats who have given speeches about the “unacceptable” discrimination against Israel by the UN’s top human rights body, and the “credibility” problem from welcoming human rights violators as members. The response is equally predictable: eye-rolls, yawns and a few disingenuous murmurs about UN reform.

It’s about time we changed the script.

Germany’s dangerous stand against US, Israel must be stopped

May 2, 2017 — Anne Bayefsky

This article by Anne Bayefsky and Benjamin Weinthal originally appeared on Fox News.

Israel and the Trump administration have a German problem, ironically manifesting itself on Israel’s 69th birthday.  Just as President Trump’s emissaries and his UN Ambassador Nikki Haley are rightly insisting that Israel-bashing at the UN cease, Germany is moving in the opposite direction.

On May 2, 2017, in Paris, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is scheduled to adopt one more resolution singling out the Jewish state for criticism and attempting to deny Israeli sovereignty over its capital, Jerusalem. The Palestinians want Germany’s vote and are playing the old UN game of floating a terrible resolution and modifying it to just plain awful to win European support.  That Germany is playing this game is a repudiation of everything the United States is trying to accomplish – not to mention the allegedly special relationship between Germany and Israel.

Say what?! UN Human Rights Council declares Israel world’s No. 1 human rights violator

Mar 25, 2017 — Anne Bayefsky

This article originally appeared on Fox News.

According to the U.N.‘s top human rights body, Israel is the worst human rights violator in the world today. That’s the result of the latest session of the UN Human Rights Council which wrapped up in Geneva on Friday by adopting five times more resolutions condemning Israel than any other country on earth.

President Trump’s administration is currently a member of this reprehensible body. To borrow Elie Wiesel’s counsel to President Reagan not to pay his respects at a German graveyard containing Nazi SS remains: “That place, Mr. President, is not your place.”

U.N. Human Rights Council Quicksand: Get Out or Drown

Feb 27, 2017 — Anne Bayefsky

This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared on National Review.

The U.N. “Human Rights” Council starts its main annual session on Monday in Geneva with elected members and human-rights aficionados such as Saudi Arabia, China, and Qatar settling into their seats. The question hanging over the head of President Trump is whether his administration will take its place beside these other states and legitimize the most anti-Israel, twisted bastion of moral relativism in the U.N. system.

Barack Obama deliberately designed a quicksand trap before leaving office. He put the U.S. forward for Human Rights Council membership in a U.N. election that occurred just ten days before the American presidential election. Attempting to rule from the grave, Obama knew full well that the U.S. would be occupying a three-year spot that officially commenced on January 1, 2017. The Bush administration had refused to join the Council, or to pay for it, when the Council was first created as a faux renovation of the discredited U.N. Human Rights Commission back in 2006. Joining the Council was one of Obama’s very first foreign-policy moves in 2009.

The French-Obama-Arab-UN Attack in the Offing

Jan 9, 2017 — Anne Bayefsky

This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared on Breitbart News

President Obama has gone rogue and only one man can protect American democracy in the next few days: the President-elect.

On January 15, 2017, with only five days left after 2,917 days in office, President Barack Obama is planning once again to feed Israel to the international wolves. The move is intended to tie the hands of President Donald Trump and is a direct repudiation of the will of the American electorate who rejected Obama’s calamitous foreign policy and a repeat performance by his secretary of state.

Diplomatic terrorism at the UN, courtesy President Obama

Dec 25, 2016 — Anne Bayefsky

This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared on Fox News.

The vicious condemnation of Israel at the UN Security Council on December 23, 2016 is a watershed moment in U.S.-UN relations – albeit not as President Obama hoped. Following the vote of fourteen in favor and one American abstention, Palestinian representative Riyadh Mansour and American Ambassador Samantha Power exchanged a telling handshake. Evidently, President Obama believes that he has put one over on Israel, Prime Minister Netanyahu and the incoming Trump administration. But here’s another possibility: treachery at the UN will not be cost free.

Will A Lame Duck President Betray Israel at the UN Security Council?

Update: Egypt Delays Vote

The UN Security Council is scheduled to vote Thursday on a scandalous and irreversible Palestinian-led resolution purporting to decide that Israeli settlements violate international law. All signs point to President Obama being a willing participant and refusing to exercise the American veto.

If adopted, the treacherous resolution will greenlight the boycott, divestment, sanctions “BDS” master plan to devastate the Israeli economy and fast-track the effort to send Israel’s Prime Minister to the International Criminal Court to stand trial for war crimes.

A Wake-up Call to American Businesses and Taxpayers

This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared on Washington Examiner.

U.S. companies are in for a shock as President Obama takes aim once again at Israel in the final month of his presidency. In the coming days, he is expected to direct his team at the United Nations to vote for U.S. funding of “BDS,” the boycott, divestment and sanctions campaign aimed at financially ruining Israel and smearing the companies with which it does business.

Trumpism for International Dummies: Obama Multilateralism was a Hot Mess

Nov 17, 2016 — Anne Bayefsky

This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared on Fox News.

There is a cure for the hysteria gripping foreign capitals and diplomatic salons after a Trump win: soul-searching. For the explanation of why Americans demanded a fresh start can be found as much in the chambers of international diplomacy as it can in Washington corridors.

The United Nations provides a useful vantage point by which to understand the Trump phenomenon.

Obama’s Post-election Surprise: Stabbing Israel in the Back at the UN

Nov 12, 2016 — Anne Bayefsky

This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared on Washington Examiner.

It is time to talk about the post-election surprise: a bitter President Barack Obama stabs Israel in the back on his way out the door. There is a very real danger the president will dramatically change long-standing, bipartisan foreign policy by refusing to exercise the United States’ veto power at the United Nations Security Council on a devastating anti-Israel resolution.

For eight long years, Obama has used the U.N. as his personal playground, the place for doing an end run around Congress and the American electorate.

Terrorized New Yorkers Host Terror-Enabling Regimes at UN

Sep 20, 2016 — Anne Bayefsky

This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared on Breitbart News.
The leaders of terror-sponsoring states are currently descending on Manhattan for the annual opening of the UN General Assembly and their words are guaranteed to be blasted across the global airwaves. It is about time we made the connection between the terror-enablers in Turtle Bay and the terrorism in the streets beyond.

Monday brought new meaning to the phrase ‘upstairs, downstairs.’ Above ground, the limousines glided in and out of UN Headquarters – recently renovated with more than half a billion dollars from U.S. taxpayers alone. Below ground, millions of New York straphangers were held up in subway and train stations until police gave the all-clear.

All Jews out of Palestine is not a peace plan

Sep 14, 2016 — Anne Bayefsky

This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared on Fox News.

The Obama administration is furious about Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s recent objection to Palestinian plans for a state with “no Jews.” In a video posted on September 9, 2016, Netanyahu made the obvious comments that the Palestinian effort to purge all Jews from the West Bank amounts to “ethnic-cleansing” and “ethnic cleansing for peace is absurd.” The State Department responded by shooting the messenger, calling Netanyahu’s remarks “inappropriate and unhelpful.”

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas makes no secret about Palestinian intentions. As he boasted to the interim Egyptian President while on a visit to Cairo in July 2013: “In a final resolution, we would not see the presence of a single Israeli—civilian or soldier—on our lands.”
