The UN's 'violent extremism' scam: What to say when 'radical Islamic terror' is too scary

There is a dangerous scam gaining traction at the United Nations, backstopped by the White House. It’s called “violent extremism.” Given the U.N.’s long and undistinguished history of being unable to define terrorism, and an American president who chokes on the words “radical Islamic terrorism,” pledges to combat “violent extremism” have become all the rage.

UN fails to learn lessons of Holocaust. It focuses on showmanship

Link to original article on Fox News Analogizing Palestinians to the Jewish victims of the Nazis: that’s how the UN is marking this week’s “International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust.” The epicenter of modern antisemitism on a global scale is not somewhere over there, but in the middle of Turtle Bay.

Press Briefing by Press Secretary Josh Earnest, January 19, 2016: MR. EARNEST: "...the release of five Americans who are being unjustly detained inside of Iran...What we saw was that essentially was a humanitarian gesture that was offered up by the Iranians. We made a reciprocal humanitarian gesture by releasing seven individuals..."

IAEA reports Iran sought nuclear bomb and is still lying.

On December 2, 2015 the UN Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) issued its final report required under the Iran nuclear deal (JCPOA). It determines that Iran actively pursued a nuclear weapon, deliberately covered up its activities and continues to lie about it.

Nothing Personal About Obama's Consistent Hostility Toward Israel

Much ink has been spilled blaming the state of U.S.--Israel relations on the poor personal rapport between President Obama and Prime Minister Netanyahu. The fact is that huggable Barney the Purple Dinosaur could have been Israel's elected leader, and the relations would have been equally hostile.

A Parade of Horribles, with Obama in the Middle

This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared on National Review. The parade of dictators and despots taking the U.N. stage on Monday, as the organization marks its 70th anniversary, was nothing short of spectacular. As were the lies they told without batting an eye to a friendly and respectful audience. U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has his hand out for an additional $20 billion this year, so let’s look at what American taxpayers are getting for their large chunk (one-quarter) of the U.N’s bills.

Iran deal: Why won't Obama reveal terms and conditions as Congress gets ready to vote?

This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared on Fox News. Congress plans to start voting this week on Obama’s Iran deal – minus the facts. As a result, Congressman Mike Pompeo and others are urging the GOP leadership not to proceed with the vote. When it comes to the acquisition of the world’s most dangerous weapon by the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism, it should be obvious that what you don’t know can hurt you.

Huckabee is Right: Iran Nuclear Deal Brings us Closer to Catastrophe of Holocaust Proportions

This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared on Breitbart News. When former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee raised the specter of the Holocaust in his evaluation of President Obama’s Iran deal, he touched a raw nerve because Huckabee got it right: The Holocaust taught us that evil is not satiated after it consumes Jews. A deal that is catastrophic for Israel is also catastrophic for the United States.

Obama Dashes to the United Nations, Circumvents Congress, on Iran Deal

This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared on The Weekly Standard. As part of their attempt to sell the Iran deal as something other than a catastrophe for America international peace and security, President Obama and John Kerry are now invoking the United Nations. The Obama administration raced straight from Vienna to the Security Council, awaiting nothing from Capitol Hill. What’s going on?

Shocking UN Report Calls for Arrest of Israelis Around the World

This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared on Fox News. Arrest Benjamin Netanyahu and any other “suspected” Israeli war criminals wherever and whenever you can get your hands on them. That is the shocking bottom line of a scandalous report released today from the U.N. Human Rights Council in Geneva.

UN Secretary-General Weighs Lumping Israel In With ISIS and Al Qaeda

This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared on Fox News. This week Senators Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz have posed a challenge for would-be presidents and all Americans: if the United Nations criminalizes Israel’s exercise of the right of self-defense it will pay a heavy price. The organization has no right to expect billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars to be doled out every year when they are spent undercutting our deepest values and our national security.

Searching for Criminals Everywhere but the Crime Scene

This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared in PJ Media. In the twisted world of American politics, President Obama has spent years empowering successive brutal, xenophobic Iranian regimes, each installed after bogus elections. And yet he slams GOP congressmen — who are trying to avoid the lethal consequences – for enabling Iranian “hardliners.”

Scandal Rocks the U.N.

This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared in National Review. Four days ago, on February 2, the head of a U.N. commission of inquiry created to investigate war crimes in Gaza was forced to resign after it was revealed that he had taken money from the PLO for providing legal advice. William Schabas’s U.N. job was to expose war criminals and recommend how to hold them “accountable.” William Schabas’s PLO job was to show them how to use the International Criminal Court (ICC) to hold Israeli war criminals accountable. He didn’t think there was a problem.

How the UN Mixes Anti-Semitism, the Holocaust, and Israeli War Crimes

Institute for Contemporary Affairs Founded jointly with the Wechsler Family Foundation
No. 605 January-February 2015
  • While focusing on anti-Semitism has been studiously avoided by the United Nations, the subject of the Holocaust has served as the consolation prize.
  • The United Nations does not want to deal with anti-Semitism because the organization would be exposed as the global platform for anti-Semitism. The foreign policy of the majority of nations today condones and even promotes anti-Semitism.

William Schabas Disgraced, But His Disgraceful UN Handiwork Remains

This article by Anne Bayefsky originally appeared on National Post. Canadian lawyer William Schabas was forced to resign as chair of the UN Human Rights Council’s “independent” inquiry on the Gaza war Monday after it was discovered he had been paid to provide legal advice to the PLO as recently as 2012. In one fell swoop, Schabas has managed to embarrass and disgrace not only himself, but the whole UN apparatus that appointed and promoted him.
