On Wednesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “The Story,” White House NSC Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby responded to Apple limiting the AirDrop file-sharing feature in China by stating that the White House isn’t “in the business of telling private companies how to execute their initiatives.” And the situation with Apple is different from the circumstances with Twitter that the White House has promised to watch.
Kirby stated, “Look, in general, and we’ve been clear about this all around the world, we want individual citizens, no matter what government they live under, to be able to communicate freely and openly, transparently and reliably. And we’ve made that clear with respect to Iran and we certainly continue to make that clear here with respect to China. Apple’s a private company, Martha, they have to make decisions and they have to speak for those decisions. But here at the White House, here in the administration, we want to see that individual citizens — whether they’re protesting or not, but in this case, I know that’s the context we’re talking about — are able to communicate freely and openly.”

Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis went hard against what he called the “genital mutilation” of minors at the debate against Democrat challenger Charlie Crist on Monday night.
DeSantis has taken a hardline policy against the gender transitioning of children throughout his administration and he defended his record against attacks from Crist on Monday, denouncing the practice as child abuse.
Approximately 60 previously deported Venezuelan migrants rushed the northbound lane of an international port of entry leading to Brownsville, Texas, Friday. The effort forced a shutdown of the port for several hours.
The port rush was performed as an act of protest.
Photographs and videos depicted the migrants as having painted their hands white as a sign of peace. Some of the males chained themselves to each other as they approached the port of entry to prevent against official efforts to disperse the men.
On Tuesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Your World,” Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg stated that states like New York and California will be ready to transition to electric vehicles by 2035, and that “if the United States of America can’t execute a transition like this over the course of more than a decade, I don’t know what to tell you, this is America, of course, we can do something like that.” Buttigieg also stated that different states will have different approaches, and the power issues in California and post-hurricane outages in Florida, are “a great example of one of the many benefits” of electric vehicles because some have power that can flow in both directions.
