Obama: Regulators will never approve those massive health premium increases; Regulators: APPROVED

The argument has been ever-present, where ObamaCare is concerned, that mandating generous benefits while forbidding insurers from considering factors like pre-existing conditions, could only result in one thing: Sky-high, jacked up premiums for everyone. It's simple economics. You can't artificially heighten demand by forcing everyone to buy, while also mandating a gold standard in coverage, and not see prices soar.

Obama: Virginia shooting shows gun control is more urgent than fighting terrorism

We touched yesterday on the left's out-of-the-gate seizing on the Roanoke shooting to kick off the latest gun control push. It's what they do, and no one was surprised that they did it - tinged as always with warnings like "we can't wait any longer," which imply, I guess, that everyone knows the left's gun control agenda would stop killings like this, and we're all just dragging our feet because the approval of the NRA is more important than the lives of folks like Alison Parker and Adam Ward.

ESPN benches Curt Schilling for saying radical Islamic terrorists are a problem

I'm glad I don't work for ESPN, because I don't know how anyone can understand the rules there. If you're an on-air personality there, are you allowed to use your personal social media accounts to express opinions about non-sports matters? Yes? No? Or, as appears to be the case, are you permitted to do so as long as someone doesn't arbitrarily decide after the fact that what you said was "controversial" and thus unacceptable?

New Planned Parenthood video: Stem Express CEO needs another 50 livers a week

This one doesn't have quite the smoking gun as some of the others. There isn't even anyone from Planned Parenthood in the video. But what we do see in this interview with StemExpress CEO Cate Dyer is an unmistakable attitude, and if you have a heart at all it should trouble you.

Obama spokesman Earnest: You know who'd make a great presidential candidate? Joe Biden

If Hillary's viability is based to a large degree (and it is) on the notion that she simply has too much establishment support for any other Democrat to overcome, it would stand to reason that the guy at the top of the establishment would not suddenly have his mouthpiece singing the praises of another Democrat specifically in the context of a prospective 2016 presidential run.

WSJ: Biden leaning toward jumping in

Do you think Joe Biden really wants to run for president? I have my doubts. At this point in his life, at 72 years old and having shown no inclination to wage a campaign up to this point, what would be the rationale for suddenly getting in? I know he's run for president twice before so I'm not saying there couldn't be a hankering still in there. But Biden knows you don't wage a successful campaign by starting 14 months before Election Day. If it was really in his heart to seek the presidency because he just really wanted to be president, he would already be in the race.

Denver City Council halts Chick-fil-A's airport operation because its owners believe the Bible

Forcing you to bake a gay wedding cake is just the start. The gay marriage fascists are pretty resourceful when it comes to using the power of government to enforce their orthodoxy. And by the way, this is one of the less-discussed problems with the perpetual expansion of government into everything. If you can't do business without government contracts, or without tax exemptions, you inevitably empower someone in the political realm to judge your worthiness to be in business at all.

On its own, Reuters finds at least 30 'born classified' e-mails in Hillary's stash

There's a currently popular theory that Obama wants Hillary thrown aside and wants Biden to be the nominee. I don't think that's entirely implausible, but if that were the case, wouldn't it make sense that the State Department - at Obama's directly via John Kerry - would take every opportunity to rat her out rather than cover for her? Because they're definitely covering for her, and you haven't figured that out, just consider their ridiculous claim that there were only maybe a dozen or so e-mails out of Hillary's stash that might, at some point, have been marked classified.

State Dept.: Hey, we never issued a computer to Hillary

I guess this shouldn't be surprising when you think about it. If Hillary was using a homebrew server for all her e-mails, she'd have to get State Department IT help to set up the account on a government-issued computer, right? We already know Hillary wasn't too interested in getting government IT staff mixed up in her personal any type of her business. So why even bother to issue Hillary a computer when she wasn't going to use it anyway? You think she was going to sit there and do work on it?

Oh, good: UN side deal lets Iran self-inspect its own nuke site

Don't worry. This is fine. Everyone has known for years that Iran was working to develop weapons at its Parchin nuclear site, so when Iran sends in its own inspectors to gather soil samples, take pictures and send everything to the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency . . . dude, why would they lie?

Scott Walker lays out his plan to repeal and replace ObamaCare

If we can focus for a moment on a substantive issue in the midst of this presidential campaign, we all know that one of the top priorities for a new Republican president has to be the repeal of ObamaCare. But it is neither possible nor desirable to go back to what we had before ObamaCare, which was hardly a market-based, patient-focused system. It basically used the tax code to manipulate people into being dependent on employer-provided health insurance for even the simplest of health needs. What ObamaCare did was double down on the problems inherent in that system so as to make it even worse.

Left goes insane over video of cute white sorority girls having fun

Here's a shocking piece of news for you: College sorority girls prance around, often in rather skimpy clothing, while engaging in generally mindless activities like, er . . . prancing around. They also put on makeup. They also shake their groove thangs and know perfectly well that you're going to help yourself to a look. And if they want other girls to be interested in joining them, they know that the best way to make that happen is to show themselves, you know . . . prancing around, etc.

Steelers' James Harrison says no to 'participation trophies' school gave his sons

Maybe this is why the Steelers have won six Super Bowls (although I'd rather forget the first one). There's a mindset that's necessary for real achievement, and it has no room for the handing out of rewards that were not earned. This is one of the reasons I enjoy sports so much, by the way. As much as some people want to prattle on about everything being equal, there's no way that will ever work in practice because there will always be some people who work harder than others, and it shows in the results. An NFL season is never going to result in 32 teams being tied with 8-8 records, not just because the Raiders would never win eight games, but also because life doesn't work that way.

Whoa: ABC reports it's 'highly likely' there's a complete backup of Hillary's e-mail server

Recipes. Yoga routines. Chelsea's wedding plans. That's the stuff Hillary says she deleted from her homebrew e-mail server because, hey, why would anyone care about that? Everything work-related, she had her staff print out (!) and she handed it over to the State Department. That's it. It's all there. There's nothing else. None of it was classified. And she can't wait for you to read it.
