Don Irvine is the chairman of Accuracy in Media and its sister organization Accuracy in Academia. As the son of Reed Irvine, who launched AIM in 1969, he developed an understanding of media bias at an early age, and has been actively involved with AIM for over 30 years.

Spitzer Sputters “In The Arena”

Eliot Spitzer, who wasted no time moving into former co-host Kathleen Parker’s office after she left their CNN show last week, has sent CNN back to the ratings cellar with his new program. Spitzer and Parker often clashed, never finding the necessary on-air chemistry that makes a co-hosted show a success. The former New York governor ran the show as if it were his own, often bulldozing Parker who didn’t have the backbone to stand up to her co-host.

CNN Doctors Lara Logan Photo on ‘AC 360′

imageThe general premise of CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360″ is that the program gives the viewer the entire picture of the stories being reported on. However, in the case of a segment with Nir Rosen, who sent some inappropriate tweets on the sexual assault of CBS reporter Lara Logan in Egypt, the story became a little cloudy. The story about Rosen was relatively straightforward, and Cooper was very tough on his guest. What made the segment interesting was the photo that CNN chose to use.
