Nets Ignore Wyoming Republican Office Being Intentionally Set on Fire

Sep 7, 2018 — NewsBusters

On Thursday afternoon, news broke that a Republican Party office in Wyoming was set on fire just two days after it first opened. Local authorities say the fire was set intentionally but despite the disturbing details of the incident, the network evening broadcasts of ABC’s World News Tonight, CBS Evening News, and NBC Nightly News all ignored it.

Instead of mentioning the possibly politically-motived attack, they spent time reporting more frivolous things. NBC spent the later portion of their broadcast talking about more changes to categories for the Oscars and closed with a “spotlight” on Cher’s career. ABC discussed a giraffe attack while CBS was touting Twitter permanently banning conspiracy theorist Alex Jones (which falsely described him as right-wing).—More…

Nets Yawn as Anti-Trump FBI Lawyer Defies House Subpoena to Testify

Jul 12, 2018 — NewsBusters

On Wednesday, anti-Trump FBI lawyer Lisa Page was supposed to appear on Capitol Hill for a joint hearing with the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees who were investigating alleged political bias against the Trump campaign by the FBI. But instead of complying with the Congressional subpoena that called her there, she defied it and didn’t show up. The allegations against her were serious but the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) didn’t find anything interesting about the subpoena snub.

In place of a report on Page’s defiance of Congress, the CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News hyped the upcoming World Cup final. NBC also had a segment about a Lamborghini that caught on fire at a gas station. Meanwhile, ABC’s World News Tonight thought it was more important to cover an unruly airplane passenger who was going to have to pay over $10,000 in fines.—More…

Rep. Dave Brat Whacks ‘Lying Liberal Media’ on ‘Hundreds’ Protesting at His Office

Jul 2, 2018 — NewsBusters

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reported Virginia congressman Dave Brat sent a fundraising email to supporters Wednesday challenging a media report that “hundreds” of people protested him on immigration policy along the street outside his Glen Allen, Virginia last Sunday, organized by the liberal group Together We Will Henrico.

He linked to a story by Richmond’s NBC station WWBT (at which showed the “crowd” was barely worth a news story. It’s like a group of people lined up, one by one, along a single block. You’d be lucky to get to one hundred when you look at the video. —More….

Washington Post Plays the Race Card on Trump

Jun 24, 2018 — NewsBusters

The Washington Post headline was blunt: “‘A blowtorch to the tinder’: Stoking racial tensions is a feature of Trump’s presidency.”

Among other things Philip Rucker wrote these “reporter’s insights”:

“President Trump this week likened Hispanic immigrants to vermin. He warned that they would ‘pour into and infest our country.’ And he defended his administration’s family separation policy by alleging that parents crossing the southern border with their children were poised to commit crime and murder.”

….The president referred to some African nations as “shithole countries.” He posited that “both sides” were to blame for last summer’s deadly white supremacist rally in Charlottesville. And, again and again, he has accused black football players who took a knee during the playing of the national anthem to protest police discrimination of being un-American.”—More….

David Frum: Trump Is Our ‘Punishment’ for Terrible Citizens Not Liking the News

Jun 11, 2018 — NewsBusters

Trump Derangement Syndrome is a very real affliction that plagues many in the liberal media and many in the anti-Trump crowd. During an appearance on CNN’s Reliable Sources on Sunday, David Frum, a faux Republican and editor for the left-leaning Atlantic, showed off how advanced his TDS was when he decried President Trump ahead of the historic North Korea summit as a cruel “punishment” against the American people for being irresponsible and hating the news media.

CNN host Brian Stelter originally asked Frum to comment on President Trump’s criticism of CNN while at the press conference at the G7 summit in Canada. Of course, Frum suggested Trump’s words somehow gave cover to dictators to abuse the press. He then shifted gears and started trashing Americans who were “fatigued” of the news.—More…
