Plate Tectonics May Take the odd Millennia off!

Plate tectonics, geology, etc, is one of my passions. Being a journalist, my only real chance to indulge in it though is when it comes up in a story, such as this one.

Republican Stalemate

Each of the leading Republican candidates has an “impossibility” factor to being nominated.  Mike Huckabee will run into the problem of carrying big states and less conservative parts of the nation both in the nomination and, importantly in the eyes of the delegates in Minnesota, in the general election.

Real Murderers Cry A Lot

I don’t watch television like other people do. When you spend your days writing, your mind needs to relax to a point where it is not processing a lot of information.

CHANGE (New Tone II)

"Change". That's the theme of this year's presidential election. A change from the partisan bickering on Capitol Hill. A change in foreign policy. A change in domestic policy. Change. If a "change" does occur, it will be interesting to watch unfold, IF it is allowed to do so.

Marine proves from grave that love is forever

Lance Cpl. Travis Layfield's bracelet worn by USMC Sgt. ChavezIn a world where the anti-war contingent goes to such extremes to trash the image of the American soldier, a voice from the grave proves that love conquers all. The new Tower of Babel

I was reading an excerpt from David Frum’s new book Comeback: Conservatism That Can Win Again and it occurred to me that the difference between conservatives and liberals (or as Frum put it, Republicans and Democrats) is far greater than most people might think.
