Every Republican candidate responding to questions about the failing economy, soaring crime rates, and draconian Covid mandates have reminded their voters with the words, "Wait till the 2022 midterms." But voters shouldn't hold their breaths; there might not be a savior in November. And here's why. Democrats relinquish power as easily as the Confederate South gave up their slaves. And Republicans have disappointed their constituents time after time once they are given power.

Normalizing Insanity

Defunding and abolishing the police increases safety in American society is an insane statement. According to a report by CNN in June 2020, "There's evidence that less policing can lead to less crime." Nonsense! Because if that's true, why not eliminate all police, judges, DA's, and everyone else associated with law enforcement. That should be the safest scenario of all.

Think of how small the odds are of influential people going to jail for any heinous crimes they commit. If a crime has caught the public's attention, possibly a low-level person connected to the offense does some time, but the big players almost always go on with their lives as if nothing happened. Last week, Ghislaine Maxwell was found guilty of sex trafficking more than two years after her partner in crime, Jeffrey Epstein, was found hanging in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York.

What would be the consequence of President Joe Biden conducting a press conference where he would state: Biden - "I am administering three initiatives to ensure the perpetual power of the Democrat Party." "First, I will continue to keep the southern border open until such time that the number of undocumented crossings exceeds any voting advantage Republican candidates may have for the 2022 elections. Second, I have instructed the DOJ to ignore any illegal activity conducted by Democrat officials. Third, I have asked the DOJ to open investigations on Parents who voice dissenting opinions at schoolboards regarding CRT and miscreants who refuse to be injected with government-approved drugs."

What Can We Do - What Steps Can We Take?

Over and over again, I read the comments of Americans that ask what steps can be taken to confront the despotism engulfing the country. According to the renowned late American Archbishop Fulton Sheen, the word diabolic comes from the Greek "dia-boline" which means to tear apart. Anything that destroys unity said Sheen, such as breaking apart the family and produces discord, is diabolic.
