Bringing this to mind, again, is a comment I recently came across from an avowedly “non-religious” mother who was upset that her seven-year-old’s Mormon best friend wouldn’t stop talking to him about Bible stories and Jesus. “I don’t want him to be religious, honestly,” the woman wrote to an advice columnist in April. “I want him to learn that you should be a good person and do the right thing because it’s the right thing to do, not because God will punish you if you don’t.”

Politicians such as Maxine Waters can praise and encourage BLM/Antifa violence via Twitter, and they still have access. Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamanei can send anti-Jewish and anti-Israel tweets, and he’s still on the platform. But dare criticize rapper Cardi B over her depraved 2021 Grammy Awards “performance” featuring her song, “WAP,” which itself would have been censored pre-Sexual Devolution, and that’s a suspension for you. That’s what happened to me, anyway — ironically, while I was crafting a magazine essay on cancel culture. So, hey, sort of like a researcher in the midst of a set of experiments who then finds out he’s going to be one of the test subjects, Twitter gave me some very timely and personal material a day before my article deadline.

One reason conservatives never saw a culture war they couldn’t lose is that they insist on using Queensberry rules, even as the Left fights no-holds-barred. Consider, for example, two scenarios. When leftists discover someone “committing conservatism” — such as when former Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich was found to have donated $1,000 to California’s Proposition 8 — they accept nothing less than the person’s termination. In fact, they never want him to work again. Ergo “cancel culture.”

The Fight That Lies Between Status Quo and Secession

But now, with the Left stealing an election after have stolen our whole culture and increasingly achieving its ends through violence, more people may accept this message.

Something occurred to me recently while watching a post-debate Frank Luntz focus group. Comprising undecided voters who liked neither Trump nor Biden, the participants nonetheless believed the president won the debate and most said they'd probably vote for him as "the lesser of two evils." Their preference for him on policy overrode their higher estimation of Biden's character.

Joe Biden’s tendency to now go into seclusion before presidential debates has raised many an eyebrow. His handlers say that, as far as tonight’s event goes, they were simply preparing him to face President Trump, while some observers surmise he has been playing prevent defense and avoiding Bidengate-scandal questions. But there’s another possible explanation. Radio host Rush Limbaugh noted a while back that Biden is rarely seen at night; in fact, his campaign has on certain days ended his appearances at 12 noon.

Trump MUST Up His Game for the Next Debate

President Trump is masterful at his rallies. I’ve never seen anyone work a crowd better. Able to control the microphone, he’s loose, conversational, fluent, interesting, funny and even sometimes charming. He connects with people. That’s not what he did September 29, however, during the first presidential debate. Many conservatives won’t like hearing this, but Trump underperformed while Joe Biden exceeded the very low expectations set for him. The ex-vice president simply had to show up and not exhibit dementia; the president had to impress. This he did not do. And he can — and must — up his game at the next debate, which also happens to be the last one.

The leftist community is all abuzz about a fly landing on Vice President Mike Pence's head, and remaining there for a few minutes, during Wednesday's debate with Senator Kamala Harris. Dubbed #flygate on the Internet, the uninvited debate attendee inspired quips and comments, and not just because he was unmasked and uninterested in social distancing. And of all the reactions, perhaps the most striking is the claim that the fly's treating Pence like a bowl of molasses doesn't mean the vice president is sweet — but, rather, Devil-influenced. 

Shameful Moderator Bias at the Vice Presidential Debate

One tragedy of this election season, as with all modern election seasons, is that the Democrats’ radicalism is being hidden from the American people by a complicit establishment media. It would have been nice, then, if Wednesday’s vice presidential debate could have been a teaching moment where light was shined on Kamala Harris’s and Joe Biden’s toxic positions. Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett is in the grip of “dogmas.” So goes a criticism made by, ironically, the most dogmatic of people. In fact, the gripe reflects a certain dogma-born prejudice. Oh, I don’t speak of the anti-Catholic, anti-“religious,” anti-pro-life and anti-conservative varieties, though they’re also present. Nor do I refer to how a Muslim nominee would never be subjected to such scorn. Rather, the prejudice here is seldom recognized and something even good people may exhibit.
