Liberals vs. Liberty

Freedom! The word itself, can bring a tear to your eye and put a smile on your lips. Our country has enjoyed a reputation of being "the land of the free". Individuals from all around the world have sought ways to get to America. Many have left all they had and even risked the loss of life in order to become a part of this great experiment. I have never heard the phrase, "The Russian dream", or "The French dream", or "The Mexican dream". But, most people know what you mean by "The American dream".

Brush Fires of Spiritual Freedom

The Christian church in America, for too long, has been anemic. We have taken Sunday services and turned them into social gatherings where the congregation goes home no better informed than when they came. There is no message of urgency to walk close to God. Any mention of sin or disobedience, by a pastor, is weakly expressed and produces no shame or change.

Rambo John (R.J.) McCain showed up in the Republican primary in Arizona. He launched an attack against his conservative opponent, with both barrels, before J.D. ever announced he was even in the race. Bart and Bret Maverick would have been proud, in fact they probably would have adopted R.J. into the family, officially.

Are Christians least religious?

Lately, we have been hearing questions about whether Barack Obama is a Christian or a Muslim, or none of the above. A recent poll conducted by Pew Research indicated that approximately one out of four adults in America believe he is a Muslim and one out of three believe he is Christian. The rest have no idea.

Irreconcilable Differences

Is there any divorce that would meet with God's approval? What if the two sides realized that they will never, ever get along again? Remember, God hates divorce. Marriage is a uniting of two into one. Divorce is the taking of that one and tearing it into two, again. It was never meant to be.

"Normal," yes; Godly, no! God is not "normal" as defined by man. Does Your Vote Count?

America was at the crossroads two years ago. Americans voted Obama into office and gave the Democrats solid control of the House and Senate. That election determined which road we would travel upon. To my amazement and great disappointment, America chose socialism. The Liberals took complete control of Washington and began to launch a massive agenda to enlarge government, secure power, destroy capitalism, take over industry, control healthcare, increase dependency, and basically cement our future to a foundation of socialism.

Closet Christian or Closet Muslim?

There has been a lot of speculation as to whether BO is a Muslim. Recently, a poll of Americans indicated that approximately 1/4 believe he is Muslim, around 1/3 believe he is Christian and the rest have no idea. (Let me state, in the beginning, that the opinion of others is not the deciding factor as to our religion, and thankfully so.)

Remember the good ol' days when the value of your home actually increased with the passing of time? During bad economic periods, values remained fairly stagnant. The rest of the time appreciation put added net worth in your wallet.
