Step Up Before It’s Too Late, Mr. President

Dear Mr. President: From the moment you chose to insert yourself, and, as Judicial Watch has discovered, your minions at the Justice Department into a local incident in Sanford, Florida, a travesty of justice has unfolded.

The Democrats’ Threat to ‘Go Nuclear’

Yesterday, in an angry speech given on the Senate floor, Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) warned he would go "nuclear" and change the Senate rules in order to end filibusters on President Obama's executive branch nominations. "Senator [Mitch] McConnell broke his word," Reid fumed.

The Death of Amnesty 2013

If the rumors coming out of Washington, D.C. are accurate, amnesty will die a long, slow death in the House of Representatives. According to Politico, Republican leaders got together yesterday to plan how they would deliver the news to the public.

How Fed Food Assistance Fattens Corporate America

On Tuesday, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) revealed that a mind-blowing total of 101 million Americans participate in at least one of 15 different nutrition programs made available by the federal government. That surpasses the 97.2 million of Americans who represent the total number working full time in the private sector, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). This is a disgraceful indictment of the Obama administration's big-government policies. Many of those policies are pushed by corporate entities looking to feed at the government trough.

Framing Trayvon

From the moment the Trayvon Martin shooting rose to the national spotlight, the story became entangled in the nation's diseased dialogue on race. Racial arsonists like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson descended on the scene at the head of the left-wing lynch mob to force a verdict of guilty on Zimmerman because he was allegedly white. Without the benefit of evidence, George Zimmerman became a caricature of everything lynchers like Sharpton and Jackson claim America to be--hateful, bigoted and indifferent to the loss of African-American life. Thus, provoked by years of race-baiting from the left, many conservatives have responded in kind, indulging in a parallel demonization campaign of Trayvon Martin designed as a protest against past injustices by civil rights racists against whites (think no further than the destruction of Paula Deen and the acquittal of O.J. Simpson).

Scorn on the Fourth of July

The Fourth of July is over, and despite most of America taking great joy in celebrating our independence and freedom, many members of the American Left are glad that what they consider to be an unseemly spasm of over-hyped jingoism is finally over. For these oh-so-enlightened and morally superior souls, a racist and irredeemably imperialist America is something to be mourned, not celebrated. Independence Day is thus a time for commemorating their hatred of the country and waving it for all to see.

Delaying the ObamaCare Disaster

In a move best described as calculatingly cynical, a Treasury Department official who wished to remain anonymous confirmed to the Daily Mail's online newspaper that the Obama administration will not enforce the employer mandate in the healthcare bill until 2015. The mandate was supposed to go into effect next year, but the official notes a "combination of politics and economic realities in the marketplace" is responsible for the delay. The prospect of Democrats being forced to defend ObamaCare during the 2014 mid-term election campaign is more like it.

Zimmerman’s Fate and Looming Race Riots

The murder case against George Zimmerman is rapidly unraveling, due in large part to the compelling testimony of key witnesses. Ordinarily, there is nothing unusual about compelling testimony changing the course of a trial, but in this case it is witnesses presented by the prosecution that are bolstering the case for the defendant. Thus, with each passing day it is becoming more apparent that the real reason for bringing this case to trial was to assuage the media-driven concerns of the racial grievance industry, led by chief arsonists Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson. Shamefully aiding and abetting them is the racially polarized Justice Department led by Attorney General Eric Holder.

Erasing the ‘Faces of Global Terrorism’

In the same war against truth that recently saw the UK ban Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller, the FBI announced it will be pulling ads featuring wanted terrorists off Seattle-area buses, due to complaints that they stereotype Muslims.

Obama Sends U.S. Troops to Prop Up Morsi

In yet another remarkable display of Obama's determination to secure the Middle East for Islamofascists, 400 U.S. troops will reportedly be deployed to Egypt to augment the police force of Islamist President Mohamed Morsi. They will be part of a 13-country force stationed in Egypt in anticipation of protests, scheduled for June 30th, calling for the removal of Morsi. Curiously, whereas Obama readily threw former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak under the bus in 2011, the White House is now eager to defend the regime of Morsi, who, like his Muslim Brotherhood sponsors, is well on his way to imposing the Saudi Arabian model of governance on Egypt.

Ramming Amnesty Through the Senate

On Monday, the United States Senate passed a procedural vote on the so-called "border surge" deal brokered by Sens. Bob Corker (R-TN) and John Hoeven (R-ND) that paves the way for passage of the entire comprehensive immigration reform bill later this week. The vote was 67-27.

A False Sense of Border Security

On Thursday, the Senate reached a tentative deal on border security aimed at encouraging more Republicans to support so-called comprehensive immigration reform. Senators Bob Corker (R-TN) and John Hoeven (R-ND) put together a deal with the "Gang of Eight" that calls for 700 miles of new fencing along the Mexican border, a near doubling of Border Patrol agents, and the purchase of aerial drones for additional border policing. Breitbart's Matthew Boyle accurately describes the real objective behind this effort. "The so-called 'compromise' on border security...is a sham meant to give political cover to Republicans who want to vote for amnesty but cannot be seen opposing border security."

The Terror Plots the NSA Program Stopped

On Tuesday, the intelligence community made its latest effort to defend and explain two secret surveillance programs disclosed by former defense contractor Edward Snowden. In a rare open hearing, National Security Agency (NSA) Director Keith Alexander told the House Intelligence Committee that more than 50 potential terrorist plots had been foiled since 9/11. “In the 12 years since the attacks on Sept. 11, we have lived in relative safety and security as a nation,” General Alexander said. “That security is a direct result of the intelligence community’s quiet efforts to better connect the dots and learn from the mistakes that permitted those attacks to occur on 9/11.”

Dem-Controlled Detroit Defaults

NYU Throws Out Blind Chinese Human Rights Activist

The leftist-indoctrination centers that many of America's college campuses have become added another despicable blot to their legacies yesterday. New York University (NYU) announced that blind Chinese political dissident Chen Guangcheng has been tossed off campus. According to the NY Post, the Communist government of China is applying the pressure, using NYU's expansion of its campus to a facility in Shanghai as leverage. Chen's presence at NYU has apparently rankled Chinese bureaucrats who signed off on the expansion permits. "NYU isn't letting a pesky thing like human rights stand in the way of its expansion in China," reports the Post.

Traitor

Edward Snowden, 29, a former CIA technical assistant and current employee of military contractor Booz Allen Hamilton, went to the Guardian and the Washington Post newspapers and spilled national security secrets that he had promised not to divulge. U.S. Ambassador John Bolton puts that effort in the proper perspective:
Number one, this man is a liar. He took an oath to keep the secrets that were shared with him so he could do his job. He said said he would not disclose them, and he lied. Number two, he lied because he thinks he's smarter and has a higher morality than the rest of us. This guy thinks he has a higher morality, that he can see clearer than other 299-million 999-thousand 999 of us, and therefore he can do what he wants. I say that is the worst form of treason.

Big Brother Barack

A stunning report by the Guardian newspaper published late Wednesday evening reveals that the National Security Agency (NSA) has been collecting the phone records of millions of Americans who are customers of Verizon, one of the nation's largest telecom companies.

An Israel-Hater Heads to the U.N.

On Wednesday, President Obama nominated Samantha Power to be US Ambassador to the United Nations. Power has "been a relentless advocate for American interests and values, building partnerships on behalf of democracy and human rights, fighting the scourge of anti-Semitism and combating human trafficking," the president contended. Power's record, however, tells a much different tale. Power is, unsurprisingly, not only a radical leftist who believes America is evil and owes the world an apology, but someone with an egregious history of antipathy directed towards Israel.
