According to an Associated Press report, the Iranian nuke negotiations have engendered an agreement--to continue taking in hopes of reaching a final agreement by the end of June. As an unnamed senior U.S. official put it, talks between Iran and the P5+1 powers (the United States, Britain, France, China and Russia plus Germany) would continue past yesterday's deadline for the outline of an agreement if enough progress was made to justify that extension. By late yesterday that contention was confirmed: talks will continue through today.

The Obama administration's determination to reach an accord with Iran at any cost continues unabated. As the March 31st deadline approaches, the administration has taken to recklessly downplaying Iran's increasing belligerence, as well as continuing a coordinated attack on Iran's chief critic, newly re-elected Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

As vote tallying came to a close Wednesday night, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud Party emerged as the clear victor in the Israeli election, besting the runner-up Zionist Union party headed by the Labor Party leader Isaac Herzog and his running mate, Tzipi Livni. As a result, Netanyahu has gained the upper hand in forming the country's next coalition government.

Lynch Mob Mayhem in Ferguson

Shortly after midnight Thursday morning, two police officers were shot in front of the Ferguson Police Department. A 41-year -old officer from the St. Louis Police Department was shot in the shoulder, with the bullet exiting through his back. A 32-year-old officer officer from the Webster Groves Police Department was shot just below the right eye with the bullet lodging in his ear. "We could have buried two police officers next week over this," said St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar.
