Intellectual Lightweights For Obama

I happen to reside in that geographic section of North Carolina sometimes known as "Hollywood East." Several movies and TV series are being shot all around me currently. A number of movies were shot, in part, just blocks from my office.

Bread and Circuses

"In modern usage, the phrase "Bread and Circuses" is taken to describe a populace that no longer values civic virtues and the public life. To many across the political spectrum, left and right, it connotes a supposed triviality and frivolity that characterized the Roman Republic prior to its decline into the autocratic monarchy characteristic of the later Roman Empire's transformation about 44 B.C."

Taking Away America’s Big Stick

"Speak softly and carry a big stick." Those words are attributed to US President Theodore Roosevelt. It was, as it turns out, a fairly effective policy for Teddy, and it would seem, for the US for many decades. Then we let our guard down and Pearl Harbor went up in flames with well over two thousand Americans killed in a Japanese sneak attack on a beautiful Sunday morning in December of 1941.

General David Petraeus For Romney’s Veep?

"The retired Army four-star general, who has been lionized by many Republicans, led the charge to allow homosexuals to serve openly in the military--more than a year before the Obama administration repealed the armed forces' "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy."

Who Pulls Obama’s Strings?

There is something very telling about an incumbent president asking an "impeached" president to go to bat for him. It's sort of like someone in court for, oh, jay walking, having a car thief testify as to the character of the accused in court. It's wildly weird!

Mullahs, Murder, Mayhem, and Iran

One can only hope the American security/intelligence agencies understand that we (America) are dealing with a bunch of theocratic nut cases in Iran and not a group of logical, critically thinking, adult human beings.

Christians, Cities, Chickens, Cynics, and Idiots

"Well, guilty as charged," said Cathy when asked about the company's position (on traditional marriage). "We are very much supportive of the family -- the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that.

America’s Malaise Is BACK!

The dictionary defines malaise as: "an indefinite feeling of debility or lack of health often indicative of, or accompanying the onset of, an illness ... ." Malaise in an individual is bad. Malaise in a nation can be fatal.

“Reasonable” Gun Control Laws?

First allow me to try and clear something up. The Second Amendment does not grant US citizens the right to own and bear arms. It recognizes that right, already granted by God, and makes darn sure the government KNOWS they (the government) cannot tamper with it.

Now It Is Change And Hope

If there is anything quite as pathetic looking as a democrat after having been taken to the woodshed by either the President, or their party, I honestly don't know what it is.

Eye In The Sky

For millenia, man has cast an eye toward the sky in an unconscious gesture of yearning -- yearning, perhaps, for his home? Science certainly does not know.

A Guaranteed Minimum Income In The US?

If the Obama Administration and his fellow Socialist/Marxist/Progressives (who camouflage themselves as democrats) in the US government aren't sent packing in November, I fully expect the next step in securing a socialist state in America is a guaranteed annual (minimum) income for every American.

The Colorado Movie Massacre and Gun Control

At the risk of seeming insensitive to the deaths in the Colorado movie massacre, I am going to point out the obvious, which may make us flinch.

Obama’s “RED” Is Showing!!!

If there was the slightest doubt about Obama's Marxism, his "put down" of the American capitalist system last weekend should have swept it completely away.

Where’s the Justice?

The story is told of a young Confederate soldier who committed an infraction of the Confederate Army's rules and regulations. He had, in some fashion, disobeyed an order. Whatever the infraction, it was bad enough that his commander, at the field level, thought if noxious enough that his case was ordered up the chain of command until the soldier was escorted to the command headquarters tent of General Robert E. Lee, the Commander of the Army of Northern Virginia.
