What the New York Daily News doesn't know about God

You’ve all seen the obnoxious headline by now. It showed up in the New York Daily News even as the San Bernardino attacks were still ongoing. In gigantic type, the Daily News informed us all, GOD’S NOT FIXING THIS, then proceeded to rip Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Lindsey Graham and Paul Ryan for offering “thoughts and prayers” to the victims and their families.

Sorry, media, I did not 'endorse' Donald Trump

Maybe I'm making too fine a point out of this, but I keep seeing news reports this morning that I "endorsed" Donald Trump for president by accepting his invitation to introduce him at his rally last night in Macon, Georgia. That will probably come as news to Donald Trump as well as to me - which is not to say I don't respect him immensely.

Hey, Jeb: Before you talk about my 'fall,' try getting as far as I got

Someone should tell Jeb Bush that I’ve accepted an invitation to speak at Donald Trump’s rally this coming Monday in Georgia. I accepted for a simple reason: He asked. But Gov. Bush seems weirdly interested these days in the connection – if only in his own mind – between what he thinks happened to me and what he thinks is going to happen to Trump.

Yes, we talked politics at Thanksgiving . . . and everyone survived

We had 48 family members at our Thanksgiving dinner gathering! Plenty to be thankful for! Plenty of food! Plenty of fellowship! And plenty of laughter! There were no discussion ground rules, and only three of us ventured into the realm of politics - an apparent Democrat voter, an apparent Republican voter, and of course the apparent radio talk show guy, moi.

Next debate might be the end for Jeb Bush

Every morning we dedicate 15 minutes of the radio show to in-depth analysis of the presidential race, and starting today we're going to make that audio available to you here.

Poor guy! America expects annoyed Obama to actually fight ISIS

All week long we’ve played clips on our radio show, and embedded them on our web site, showing President Obama taking questions from reporters and others about his strategy – or lack thereof – for fighting ISIS.

Pray for Paris and the world

Early in 2002, just a few months after the 9/11 attacks, I heard Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu deliver a message to the USA in a speech at a conference in Miami, Florida. He said that America needed to realize two things about terrorism and terrorists.

Why Obama's Keystone XL rejection excuses are a complete load of crap

It's bad enough that President Obama dragged his feet for seven years before doing what everyone knew he was going to do. TransCanada, the Canadian government an awful lot of Americans who could have used the economic boost (including the folks in North Dakota and an awful lot of Obama's union supporters) were left to twist in the wind while Obama pretended he was "reviewing" the proposed Keystone XL pipeline.

ObamaCare gives Kentucky a Republican businessman governor

According to all the polls leading up to last Tuesday’s gubernatorial election in Kentucky, Republican businessman Matt Bevin wasn’t supposed to have a chance. This was the same Matt Bevin who had launched a lamentably unsuccessful primary campaign last year against Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and was treated by much of the press in the state (OK, technically the commonwealth) as a loose cannon who couldn’t be taken seriously.

Of course: Justice Department will file no charges against Lois Lerner

I suppose there was no other way this could have ended. The Obama-era Justice Department does not exist to enforce the laws on the books except to the extent that doing so is politically helpful to Democrats, so just as her predecessor Eric Holder would have done, Attorney General Loretta Lynch has declined to bring any charges against Lois Lerner for using her position at the IRS to harass nonprofit conservative groups.

A simple but oh so necessary message to law enforcement: Thank you

As I discussed on my radio show this morning, I had the honor last night of addressing a wonderful group of law enforcement officers. These were Atlanta-area traffic enforcement officers, so it made sense that I was accompanied by Ashley Frasca, who does traffic reporting for WSB in addition to being the associate producer of my show.

Meet a victor over domestic abuse

I had the honor on my radio show today of interviewing Charmagne Helton, who has quite a story to tell about her personal victory over domestic abuse. If you didn't catch it on the radio, here's where you can hear the whole thing in full. We had Charmagne on the show as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, which is happening now. But let's recognize that domestic violence happens all year. And one part of Charmagne's testimony that really struck me was idea that she couldn't be a "battered woman" because she was college-educated and successful in her career.
