Death of a Messenger

Don't kill the messenger! You've heard that saying before and it has as much relevance today as in the past. Ages ago before the wondrous technologies for long distance communication were available; the means of sending messages between individuals over great distances fell to the responsibility of the humble messenger.

Dirty Talking

The two teenage girls in the seat behind me on the bus were discussing the shortcomings of their supervisor at the burger joint. "The bottom line is," said one of them, without even trying to lower her voice, " he's a &%##@ son-of-a-#."

Such an encounter occurred last week in one of the few hearings the U. S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee deigned to hold on the Law of the Sea Treaty, the U.N.-generated pact that many fear would cede control of the oceans to that international body.

Conservatives Congregate in Reno—CLC Report

What is it you see in your mind when you think of liberal activists? Is it large groups gathered together to complain or protest? Perhaps. On the other hand, what is it that comes to mind when you hear about conservative activists? Is it a large group of folks coming together to advocate for change? Or do you more often think of a lone guy trying to stand in the way of change? I'd wager it is the latter.

Here comes Al Gore

In February of this year I wrote a piece that talked about the flawed Presidential campaigns of the two Democratic frontrunners, Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama. Hillary has too much baggage as well as stratospheric negative perception ratings and Obama plainly has too little experience to be considered anything but a lightweight.

A switch in time

Words of praise adorn the wall of Auto Switch's myspace page. And why wouldn't it? Their music is a more pop-ier/ less intense sounding version of fellow Canadian band Nickleback.

Islamberg, British style

imageThe North American radical Islamist compounds exposed by The Day of Islam author Paul L. Williams and Northeast Intelligence Network director Doug Hagmann also exist in Britain. In the United States, Muslims of the Americas Inc., a tax-exempt organization formed in 1980 by Pakistani cleric Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani, who refers to himself as "the sixth Sultan Ul Faqr", operates dozens of radical Islamic compounds, which flourish in out-of-the-way rural areas.
