Intifada in Ferguson

The same violent protesters in Ferguson, Missouri, demonstrating against the killing of Michael Brown have also been taking it to the streets in Detroit and elsewhere to press for the release of a Palestinian terrorist who killed two Israelis.

The perils of Obama we refuse to face

The perils of Obama we refuse to face
An article written by Coach Dave Daubenmire, titled 'Is the Man in the White House Mentally Ill?' appeared on the News with Views website last week. Coach Daubenmire said it best, plainly and directly just within the title alone. With all due respect to the coach, however, I'd bet most "average" Americans looked at the title of the column and proceeded elsewhere, believing the article to be the ravings of just some hyper-lunatic Christian conservative with latent hatred toward the man occupying the Oval Office.

Walking Wounded--government victimizing disease

In all likelihood, you haven't taken a look at the new vocabulary of healthcare and the change that it has instituted in how we perceive health and, as a result, healthcare--these perceptions that underlie the concept of necessary healthcare. In fact, it goes to the very core of what we think health is.

Our Federal Debt: The Elephant In The Room

Federal Finance Minister Joe Oliver had some welcome news during the release of the fall fiscal update: Canada’s federal deficit is projected to finally be eliminated next year. With a surplus now expected for 2015-16 and an election under a year away, the political battle lines have started to be drawn.

Obama lets himself get rolled by China so he can get 'climate change' deal

Welcome to the world of make-believe. Let me explain how it works. First, you pretend there is this massive problem that is threatening the existence of live on Earth. As I look out the window right this moment at four or five inches of snow falling on November 13, I would like to remind you that this purported massive problem is global warming, which has been renamed "climate change" because there have been too many four-or-five-inches-of-snow-on-November-13 type incidents, and politicians needed a new name for it that wasn't so obviously ridiculous.

Pelosi denies knowing ACA architect Gruber: 'I don't know who he is. He didn't help write our bill.'

Nancy Pelosi's having quite a day. First, she denied the existence of the GOP wave in last Tuesday's midterm. Now, we've gotten word that she's denying any knowledge of ObamaCare architect Johnathan Gruber. Obviously, you know Gruber as the arrogant MIT professor who helped write the Democrats' health care legislation. You also know him as a guy appearing in an increasingly large collection of videos in which he admits the law was built on lies and voter stupidity.

In Arkansas, outgoing Democrat governor pardons son's drug conviction

I realize some of you think there should be no drug convictions, ever, of anyone, for anything . . . and you always make your feelings known. I don't care about them any more today than I ever do, but it's not really the point anyway. A governor pardoning his own son?

2014 Election: Blacks, Hispanics, Young and Women Still Reliably Liberal

The best predictor of future voting patterns is past voting patterns, to use a twist on a famous maxim. This is probably even truer of groups than individuals, and, despite some wishful thinking to the contrary, this election cycle was no exception. As to this, Silvio Canto at American Thinker recently asked “What Happened to ‘Demographics’?”

"Trickle Down Hatred and Contempt"

Trickle Down Hatred and Contempt
Trickle down hatred and contempt. Is it real? Is it being used to control us? Where does the buck stop on this issue, or more importantly, where does it begin?

Harry Reid’s latest tax-raising ploy is a giant political bamboozle

OAKLAND, California—U.S. internet commerce has grown dramatically over the past decade, from about $93 billion in 2003 to some $322 billion in 2013. Several factors have driven this growth: convenience, access to products that aren’t always available locally and, frankly, the desire to save money, since online purchases from sellers in other states generally are sales-tax free.

US Republicans Denounce U.S.-China Climate Deal

Any hope for Congress to reconvene with a sense of bipartisanship was quickly erased Wednesday morning as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) sharply criticized the announcement of a new climate deal between the United States and China. --Ed O'Keefe, David Nakamura and Steven Mufson, The Washington Post, 13 November 2014

Don't worry, Democrats. Nancy Pelosi is pretty sure there was no midterm wave

When we last heard from the totally-not-crazy Nancy Pelosi, she was predicting that "Civilization as we know it today would be in jeopardy if Republicans win the Senate." Then, Nancy's worst fears came true. We're sure you're aware of this, because the world fell apart last Tuesday and you probably spent the last week scrounging for food in our GOP-created post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Early Signs Of A Pullback In Drilling Activity

With oil prices low and showing no sign of an immediate rebound, the industry is beginning to pull back on spending. Oil prices have dropped around 30 percent since summer highs, raising fears among producers across the globe. Yet, many oil majors are relatively diversified, with large holdings downstream. For example, ExxonMobil and Chevron have been insulated in the third quarter because of their large holdings in refining. Steep declines in oil prices may hurt their production sectors, but with lower priced oil as an input, big oil's refining assets become more profitable.
