Police say Demarco wrote a manifesto outlining a planned killing of Vought, a weapons stash, body-disposal instructions, advice to “always wear rubber gloves,” and how to “make an airtight alibi.”

Ring doorbell footage from Aug. 10 shows Demarco at Vought’s front door.

Investigators say he also searched Vought’s mailbox and approached a neighbor to ask if anyone was home.

The neighbor reported Demarco appeared to have a gun tucked under his shirt.

Demarco told agents the November 2024 election was “the lowest point in his life” and said he feared “impending war and a fascist takeover” following Donald Trump’s reelection.

He was arrested on Jan. 22 by Arlington County Police on multiple criminal charges.

Authorities say Demarco expressed admiration for Luigi Mangione, who is charged with murdering former UnitedHealth CEO Brian Thompson, and exchanged Discord messages in which he allegedly discussed his desire to kill President Trump.

In his Discord messages, he also apparently talked about Vought, saying: "I found this guy's address."

"Are you willing to put your livelihood on the line and seek out the guy's home to Luigi him?"
