SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – Medizone International, Inc. (OTCBB:MZEI) (OTCQB:MZEI) proudly announces that its flagship disinfection technology, AsepticSure™, has won a prestigious international award for innovation. The award was received in a competition recently held at the World Health Organization’s first International Conference on Prevention and Infection Control (ICPIC) in Geneva, Switzerland.
Queen’s University Professor, Dr Dick Zoutman presented the research findings pertaining to a paper that he and Medizone International’s President, Dr Michael Shannon, recently had published in the American Journal of Infection Control. The research paper demonstrated the superior anti-microbial efficacy of Medizone’s AsepticSure™ disinfection technology.  Just three out of fifty-five research projects entered in the competition sponsored by the Innovation Academy, received an "Innovation Award of Excellence" - AsepticSure™ was one of them.  "AsepticSure™ received high marks on all five evaluative criteria" stated Dr Shannon. “It was considered transformative, impactful, pioneering in its scope, strategic, sustainable with an expected long-term positive impact - and Adaptable in that it could be applied to many different settings within the health care system.”  Dr Shannon concluded, "Independent endorsement at the World Health Organization level confirms what we have believed from the beginning - AsepticSure™ is in a league by itself in the area of biological decontamination."   Medizone’s Chief Executive Officer, Edwin Marshall added, “Given the recent peer-reviewed Publication in the American Journal of Infection Control supporting sustained ≥6 log₁₀ microbial kill rates, followed by glowing recognition just received in the journal Canada NOW, and most recently this WHO-associated international award for innovation, one thing should soon become clear to everyone in the medical community... ...The production launch of AsepticSure™ is going to offer hospitals and critical care facility operators an unprecedented opportunity to address the task of lowering infection rates within their facilities, with technology that was not even considered possible just a few short years ago.”
