Emotional sound bites
Assaults on our democracy and to our freedoms
While we watch the Gun Control debate and the Debt Ceiling debate, there is a another story happening right under our noses.
The President has announced to friends and foe alike that we will accelerate our troop draw-down in Afghanistan. And quietly, over the Christmas season, the Department of Defense announced 3000 or more troops are now in 35 African Countries ostensibly to prepare locals for advancing Al-Qaeda insurgents.
With looming budget cuts to our military and the need for border security, it would seem that launching an African presence is ill-conceived.
There is a lot happening on all fronts and we are being innundated with assaults on our democracy and to our freedoms.
The hot button topic of the day may be packed with emotional sound bites and may be very important but don't forget to keep an eye on the lesser stories.
