There is no business in America that makes more money than the insurance industry–over the last 10 years their profits have been increased by 450 percent. So I’m not really in very much of a mood to worry about the insurance industry. The insurance industry my friends is the only industry other than baseball that is exempt from the anti-trust act, and that’s the reason they have 450 percent profit over the last ten years. — Harry Reid (D-Nev.), Senate Majority LeaderActually, only one insurance company made a profit this year, it was probably less than five percent, and it was nowhere near a “record”. Must be that Congressional math. If you play games with words, Reid could be considered accurate, seeing how government isn’t a “business”. However if it were, it would be a monopoly that’s made hundreds of percent profits (considering they don’t sell anything), uses force to take money directly from citizens without their consent, and has been doing so for decades. But of course, Senator Reid would never see things that way….
