As we mourn the deaths in the Boston Marathon Bombing, as well as pray for the hundreds of wounded, many of whom lost limbs, vision, and hearing, and have nails and ballbearings embedded in their bodies, we are glued to the TV reports, hoping that information will be forthcoming soon about the perpetrators. President Obama has called the bombing a "heinous and cowardly act", and acknowledges that it is terror, because "any bombing would be a terrorist act." He warns against "jumping to conclusions", since "we don't know who? or why?" an "organization" or individuals are to blame.
Steven Emerson, head of the Investigative Project on Terrorism, reported that an Al Qaeda magazine recently recommended an attack on a sporting event, and also gave instructions on how to create explosives in one's kitchen. Did our Homeland Security Department notice this, or think it merited attention? Steve also pointed out that nails and ballbearings packed into bombs are a signature of jihadist bombs, as is the targeting of innocent civilians going about their daily activities. Reports had been given out of two additional devices that were found and defused. Those reports are now being denied by government agencies.
It is our knowledge of the many denials of the Obama administration regarding Islamist terror attacks that now causes alarm. Nidal Hasan's murder of 13, with 32 wounded in his Fort Hood Nov. 5, 2009 attack is still being labelled "workplace violence," despite the massive evidence that Hasan's Islamic beliefs drove him to commit the terror attack. The June 1, 2009 murder of U.S. Army soldier Andy Long by Carlos Bledsoe in Little Rock, Arkansas, is still not recognized by the Department of Defense as an Islamist terrorist attack despite the fact that Carlos admitted to being a jihadist who had changed his name to Abdul Hakim Mohamed during his stint in Yemen.
