I keep hearing people say we need a “good businessman” to run our country; that America is doomed unless we hire the best businessman we can find to straighten out our financially wrecked economy. A Mitt Romney, or Herman Cain or Donald Trump is “what we need”! A “good businessman” can save us and we will all be blessed with a sound currency, good jobs and a booming economic trade surplus. And because our President is a good businessman our enemies will stand down and the world stage will adjust accordingly for the good of all mankind.
I wholeheartedly agree that we need the guidance of someone who actually understands how to run a business and to apply some of the most basic principles of business to the running of our government. Things like not spending more than we have, a low debt ratio to our GDP and our tax revenues. A person who understands that raising taxes is not the answer to our financial woes. America’s economic impasse is about government spending and mismanagement, not income, the nation’s ability to produce or nurture our natural and human resources. We need a sound economist not just a good businessman.
The current field of potential presidential candidates is ripe with people who have some level of business success as well as legal or legislative experience. Some are well known while some are not. Romney and Trump are well known while Cain and Pawlenty are not as well known. Each lays claim to some level of business success of one kind or another.
What I don’t agree with is the premise that our President needs to be a businessman. He or She does not.
What is missing for me is the Statesman. We have candidates who have leadership experience, but where is the Statesman that will reclaim and advance our heritage and the intelligent design of our founding Fathers? Where is the Statesman that will charter a renewed America that all Americans can be proud of and all nations will marvel at?
This is what I want for America
I want a President that will stand before the American people and make us proud.
I want a President that will stand up for America. Not a coward, a cowboy or a “bull in the china shop”.
I want a real, strong, vibrant Patriot who will stand before any nation and proclaim firstly, our sacred sovereignty as individuals and as a nation of one people, one nation of devout patriots who inherited our rights and our freedoms from our Founding Fathers and God Almighty.
I want a President that will proclaim the United States Constitution as our only valid national law as it is written.
I want a President that will proclaim that our Constitution is not some ragged obsolete piece of paper written by idiots like the ones who are trying to tear it apart now.
I want a President that will again proclaim the United States as a sacred and absolute sovereign nation: a bastion for freedom, religion, equality and personal pursuits.
I want a President that will honor our heritage, the good and the bad, the struggles we have overcome for our people and our friends.
I want a President that will make every nation stand up and take notice, to know without vapid rhetoric and counterfeit promises that America has awakened, has risen from its knees and will again take its place among all nations. We will not conquer, we will lead by example. Others can take notice and re-claim their own nations as we have done before and must do again. It is their choice, not ours to make for them.
I want a President that will place his or her hand over their heart with tearing eyes when the National Anthem is played.
I want a President that will salute our Flag and every soldier regardless of rank.
I want a President that will stand resolute against every enemy of our nation regardless of race, religion, creed, origin or intent.
I want a President that will stand resolute for States Rights.
I want a President that will make the leaders of every nation proud to be among us or fearful of our resolve if we are attacked.
I want a President that will make the citizens of every nation envious of our nation’s gift of freedom to its own people.
I want a President that will outlaw any national or international laws, mandates or treaties that removes any of the rights of our citizens or weakens our nation.
I want a President that will defend and protect our sovereignty and our borders.
I want a President that will stand before us reminiscent of Reagan, Churchill, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Washington, Monroe or Jefferson and that ,while personally flawed as any man or woman may be, they stood for their nation, resolute in its value, its law, its endeavor and its destiny. They made us proud of who we are and returned to us our natural optimism and the expectation of our rights to freedom and our life’s own precious endeavor. They reminded us of who we are, where we have been and the path we must continue to follow. They themselves were not perfect but we honor much of what they instilled in us.
I want a President that will stand before any American to be judged, face to face, with no fear nor anything to hide with the just respect that all our citizens deserve.
I want a President who does not cower to or punish for criticism.
I want a President that is decent but unafraid of those who will seek our destruction.
I want a President that is steeped in reality and allegiance to America.
I want a President that recognizes our economic peril all threats and all enemies of our nation.
I want a President that will choose for America the best and brightest among us to be the businessman, the lawyer and the envoys of our nation.
I want a President that knows that “the best” are those who are also Constitutionally, morally and ethically among those who, while possibly ignorant of God, fear Him none the less.
I do not want a President that is a statist, a communist or a fascist. I want a Constitutionalist.
I want someone to step forward with the courage and the resume to be that Statesman. I do not want a politician, a businessman or a re-treaded ideologue. I do not want a President that is “owned” by any entity.
I want a President that is free to be our leader and will keep the Oath of Office.
There is work to do. We must remove the rest of the communists and elitists from our government in 2012. The Senate is ours for the taking. Choose wisely – it is the last chance for America!
As for our President, I want a Statesman. I want a Leader. Nothing less will do. Most of all, I want a nation that will elect this kind of candidate and I want an honest election.
