imageNow forced to send his columns to Canada Free Press (CFP) by means other than his own email account which has been hacked, climatologist Dr. Tim Ball wrote more than one year ago that President Barack Obama would bypass Congress by “creating” his own system on Cap and Trade.
When Senator Harry Reid announced last week that Cap and Trade was dead, did it feel like someone was walking over your grave? While it is true that Cap and Trade doesn’t live in Congress anymore, it is very much alive and kicking over at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Worse, Harry Reid and Congress didn’t abandon Cap and Trade; they merely shifted it over to the EPA to guarantee its future. Climatologist CFP columnist Dr. Tim Ball sounded the alarm that President Barack Obama was fast tracking Cap and Trade for money needed for the fundamental Transformation of America on June 22, 2009. All was quiet on the proverbial western front until Glenn Beck (mercifully) picked up the trail on Monday: “Why Harry Reid Isn’t Worried About Cap-and-Trade or Public Option” (Fox News, July 27, 2010). Calling on his watchdogs, Beck said, “I need your help. We need you to scour these 5,000 pages. I need you to scour these bills and I need you to look for parts of a machine that will help make cap-and-trade unnecessary to pass through Congress. “I believe they’re turning this machine on with the help of Cass Sunstein--again, the guy I’ve said from the beginning is the most dangerous man in America, because he’s our regulatory czar. He’s the guy that just takes the laws and then turns them into regulation. All these bills are, is someone else regulates. Well, Cass Sunstein is the guy who is that “someone else.” “And when it comes to cap-and-trade, we don’t have to look any further than the EPA. Oh, yes, but the EPA they’re just protecting you. Yes. “These are the same people that did a video contest touting how great government regulation is in, quote, “every aspect of your life”. And now they want to regulate air.” The machine you’re looking for is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Mr. Beck. And you can read all about it in Tim Ball’s column. Opening with Dean William Inge’s quote, “The enemies of freedom do not argue; they shout and they shoot,” Dr. Tim Ball was on to Obama’s congress to EPA Cap and Trade scheme more than a year ago. “An all out assault to push a political and economic agenda on climate change is underway,” Ball wrote. “One shout came when the White House released the document “Global Climate Change Impacts in the United States.” “Jane Lubchenco of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) who said, when appointed, “Obama told her that climate change and economic development should be her agency’s top priorities”, presented it. “What does a scientific organization responsible for air and water have to do with economic development? A mission statement written by Lubchenco says, “NOAA’s products and services support economic vitality and affect more than one-third of America’s gross domestic product.” “At the White House briefing Lubchenco said, “This report provides the concrete scientific information that says unequivocally that climate change is happening now and it’s happening in our own backyards and it affects the kind of things people care about.” Lubchenco’s statement is like claiming there is concrete scientific information that says unequivocally women are having babies and it’s happening in our own backyards. Climate change is happening and has always happened--it would be more noteworthy if it weren’t happening. It is an incredibly silly and uninformed statement for anyone to make, especially a scientist,” Ball continued. “A second “shout” came through the EPA, but it is shooting with a silencer. It is blindly moving forward with legislation titled, “Proposed Endangerment and Cause or Contribute Findings for Greenhouse Gases” under Section 202(a) of the Clean Air Act. “The EPA says greenhouse gases, but they really mean C02. While these actions will not generate revenue for government it will seriously impact US business making them less competitive in world markets. They will pass the costs on to the consumers and increase cost of living at a very inopportune time. This is a tough situation to accept even if it was necessary, but is outrageous because it is unnecessary. It is a major pattern of the entire climate debate for proponents to ignore the fundamental science. “The Obama administration pushes Cap and Trade ostensibly to limit greenhouse gases but actually to raise revenue. The president wants a fast track because he needs the money to reduce a deficit already causing him difficulties. Consider the deficit and debt going forward without the revenue from Cape and Trade. Apparently he can create his own system without congress approval. Meanwhile, it is not Congress anymore but the Obama handpicked EPA who is working on stuffing Cap and Trade down collective American throats. You read it first courtesy of Tim Ball.
